I'll Be Back

Pleasantly surprised at how large the room was, and very clean, very comfortable. The rate I paid was even less than the rate I was quoted online! The only thing wrong was the TV remote didn't work, but not a big deal to me. Overall, very nice room, great price, I will stay here every time I'm in town.

Would not recommend to anyone

Upon walking into the hotel, my breath was taken away by the foul odor. The room I was assigned was even worse. I was given another room, where the odor was still present but not as strong. Had to go shopping for cleaner and disinfectant to deordorize the room. I cut my stay short it was so awful.

Stay as far away as possible

This was the most disgusting Hotel I have ever stayed at. I have stayed at Howard Johnsons before and they were quite pleasant. But it is very obvious that different owners make a huge difference. The entire hotel smelled of urine and the sheets were so bad I had to go to wal mart and buy bedding. They were extremly rude and would not refund my card for the other 2 nights that I did not stay. It's not like I didn't want to stay because I had other plans it was because this place was crawling with smell and I'm sure germs and bacteria galore. Please spend the extra 20 to 30 dollars and stay somewhere else I would not want anyone to have there trip ruined like I did.

Needs Improvement

Room stunk of urine. I had to buy my own bedding managment was very diffuclt to deal with it was there way or no way. They would not refund my money for a terrible hotel!!

"Great room for the money"

The only thing w did not like about the hotel was 3rd floor was a smoking floor and we don't smoke.Overall my husband and I had a great stay at your hotel the staff was wonderful.We plan on booking again our next trip.

Woldn't stay here again

Good things: Comfortable bed and pillows. Reasonable price. Refrigerator and microwave. Neutral things: Evening and morning desk staff were just doing a job...but no more. Breakfast. Bad things: Front desk/breakfast area was in a little, glassed-in, un-marked room off of the entrance. The back stairway smelled strongly of pet urine or some chemicals. Ice machines on the 2nd and 3rd floors (in a 3-floor hotel) were out of order. Bottom line: Don't book this place for any part of a romantic anniversary vacation.

Great Stay

The Hotel staff was very friendly and accomadating. Each request I made was met with a smile and quick resolution.

Great Experience

Recently updated and in good condition this hotel met my needs perfectly. Continental breakfast was sparse but adequate. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Hotel staff prompt.

Howard Johnson Texarkana Review

Great location. Room was fairly clean. Bed was comfortable. Had a couple of knocks on our door late at night,which was unsettling. Could hear the people in the room next to us, as the walls were thin. Probably won't stay there again, as the 2nd night of our stay there was a huge bug (water bug, maybe) in the bathroom.

Stay was good, but the bathroom could have been cleaner.

Our bathroom needed some attention, but overall it was a good spot to get some rest.

Good deal...

All things considered, I got a great deal on a nice hotel. I was able to book a night during a promotional event, so I got to stay for a fraction of the price. The staff was generally courteous and recommended a nice restaurant for my family and myself to dine. The pool and hot tub are open late for those who like to enjoy a late night swim. The room sets a mood that allows you to relax before turing in for the night. However, the wireless didn't work as very well and breakfast was horrible. Even lesser hotels have hot breakfasts, not cold toast and mini-muffins, for the guests.

Very nice hotel for the price.

My stay was on Sat & Sun. I arrived very late, was greeted by a cherry front desk attendent and checked in without any problems. I found my room (and the hotel main areas) to be clean, neat, and in good repair. My room and bath were large and nicely furnished. The bedding, and bath were clean, but could have used a little more attention. The carpet needed cleaning, but I had a smoking room. Speaking of which, the hallway and the rooms on the 3rd floor, smoking hall, reeked! It was pretty aweful, but then when you get a smoking room, you take your chances. I don't know how the other rooms were, but if you smoke, you might want to stay non and go out side to smoke. Otherwise, the hotel was a nice deal and I was surprised.
