1 block walk to Disney. Clean and comfortable rooms. Fun pool area. Many food choices within a short walking distance.

Good location, close to Disneyland. Quiet rooms, confortable beds etc. My only complaint was the cold pool, way too cold even for November

The hotel is across the street from Disneyland, so location was great. The staff was extremely helpful and answered all questions aout local activities and restaurants. Would recommend to my friends and would stay there again.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 4 of 62Upside it was 5 min away from Disneyland.
I was looking for a motel and did a search for highest price room walking distance from Disneyland and ended up with a room here on the first floor. Stones throw from the 5 freeway very loud road noise. With one shared wall to the ice maker. The exhaust fan in the bathroom didn't work. But it didn't mater much because I spent all my time at Disneyland and very little time in the room but still a bummer.

Trip Type: Family Review 5 of 62Great hotel for the money, walking distance from Disneyland
The hotel was great. The staff allowed us to check-in a bit earlier than the regular check-in time (4pm)and met our request (I requested a room away from the freeway). Their kids pirate-theme water play area was great. My 2 year old loved it. It was walking distance to disneyland and restaurants. Overall, I would stay there again.

This hotel was located very close to disney, we had great customer service and the pool was awesome. I would recommend this to anyone taking kids to Disney.

Trip Type: Family Review 7 of 62Would stay again
The hotel was great in some areas, such as the pool area, cleanliness, amenities, and location (for Disneyland and also restaurants.) I did make my reservation about 2 months in advance and requested a king bed, when we checked in we received a room with 2 full/queen beds. We asked for our king bed reservation with a roll away for our toddler, but they told us the roll away does not fit in the king room, so we had to make the double bed situation work...but the front desk did ask us twice if the room was ok. Also, we were on ground floor and the walking around from the room above us was horrible. But overall, the price for the hotel and location is good. I would stay again.

Trip Type: Family Review 9 of 62Tons of Fun
Totally comfortable, clean and spacious rooms, and you can't beat the location, a ten minute walk to the park entrance, or the pirate-themed mini waterpark on site for your kids (there's also a quieter full sized "garden" pool on the other side of the property). This property is actually a part of Disney history, it was the first non-Disney hotel built and it's the same architect who built the Disneyland Hotel. Amazingly it's not showing its age at all, it actually looks like it's been renovated recently. Mimi's is the closest restaurant, right across the street, and it was delicious. We loved every minute of our stay at this hotel and will be back.

Clean hotel with comfortable bed. Water play area for kids is great. Close proximity to Disney Parks. Mimi's Cafe is one of our favorite restaurants.

Trip Type: Family Review 12 of 62great room & close to Disney
This was a great place to stay! it truly was walking distance to disney resort. The room was clean and quiet, the staff very helpful. The kids loved it - especially the pirate themed waterpark. There is also a "regular" pool for swimming. The only drawback I saw was there was no restaurant at the hotel or continental breakfast provided. There are, however many restaurants close by.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 13 of 62Pool View Rooms are great!
I can see why others complained in reviews about the freeway noise since many of the rooms directly face the freeway. The rooms overlooking the pool area are all quiet and far away enough from the pool itself so that pool noise isn't an issue either. The enhanced water play area was very nice with a lifeguard overseeing the safety of the slide. Unfortunately, when we were using that area, there was a fecal contamination incident on the slide but we were impressed by how quickly she shut down the entire area and got everybody out of the water. Overall, we thought it was a great Disneyland location and met all of our needs.

Trip Type: Family Review 14 of 62Outstanding Hotel
We enjoyed our stay at the Howard Johnsons. It was a beautiful hotel. Very clean and friendly staff. Our room overlooked the freeway and I was afraid of noise, but to my surprise it was very quiet! The rooms were a nice size too. My grandson did have a fall at the kiddie pool, (he slipped getting off the slide)the hotel staff was exremely helpful with first aid and getting us to the nearest hospital for a few stiches that he needed. We were on a long vacation stayed in four different hotels, this on was our favorite. Not far from the beach and very close to Disneyland.... LOVED IT

Trip Type: Family Review 15 of 62Great for the money - very close to Disneyland
It was very close to Disneyland and there were a few places to eat very nearby. The pool/kids area was pretty good, but the water bucket fills and pours far too much for little kids. The pool is in a different area but a good one. I will be staying here again and recommend this place - the best hotel on this row of hotels outside Disneyland.
