Trip Type: Special Event Review 1 of 114bad smell motel
good location, exellent for parents vsiting college kids, but really expensive for what it is; a cheap motel with bad smell and a very noisy HVAC system, kept me up at night. had to sleep with many covers. (first winter night in NE). has a good chinese Restaurant, with good menue and prices.

this is the second time we stayed there. boston hotels are booked a year in advance for parents weekends, boat races etc. this place was available no problem.

Staff was good. Location fine. Neighborhood fine. The hotel is just a bit run down, the towels and linens are worn, the paint just a bit old. It was cheap, convenient, and available. If that's all you're looking for, and that's all I was looking for, this is your place.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 5 of 114rude and dirty
the day time workers were very rude, but the night shift workers were very nice.weird, should be the other way around because your mostly dealing with the early staff. room was dirty but the location was nice, lots to do around the hotel.however the T stop was a bit of a walk to grt to.

Trip Type: Family Review 6 of 114Couldn't be better!
We went to Boston to visit our son and daughter in law who recently moved to Boston. they live in the Fenway neighborhood so we were looking for an affordable hotel in that area. The Howard Johnson's fit the bill exactly. Besides being near to Fenway, there were numerous stores, restaurants, etc. within easy walking distance. Also, very important, easy to walk to the "T" for affordable public transportation. Also, a bonus, Ben Affleck was filming a movie on the same street, so we got to see a lot of the background work involved in making a movie, plus seeing Ben himself! Great stay!

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 7 of 114Nice Hotel Room
Nice room but needs plug outlets in the bathrooms, plus the tub part of the bathtub does not work, only the shower part.

Trip Type: Business Review 8 of 114Bad service, smelly room
If you are in a good company and plan to be intoxicated 99% of your time while in the hotel, you will be fine. Otherwise another choise should be considered.

Can't beat the location and price. We could see the stadium from our room. Parking was $20 but well worth it on game day. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 11 of 114Great location
For Red Sox games, can't be beat. The hotel needs complete renovation after which it would be worth the money. We were to stay 2 nights but had to leave after the first night due to a family medical emergency. As apparently we have no recouirse for any type of rebate consiideration, I'm not that hot over Hotels .com

The hotel is old and the bedding is really old, place is in need of a major update, however for a trip to fenway and a place to crash afterwoods. Great!!

Trip Type: With Friends Review 13 of 114great location
I was very satisfied with this hotel. if you are going to fenway this is the perfect hotel location. we stayed one night for a game and found the hotel to be very clean and the staff was very accomidating, we were even able to check in a few hours early, though the decor could use a bit of updating. the restaraunt for dinner is just chinese but it was good and open late so we were able to eat after the game. however, i would not recommend eating breakfast there, frankly it was terrible, but everything else was great. i thought it was well worth the money.

The hotel is great for staying to see a ballgame. Rooms are in need of updating expecially the bedding, very old mattress. But a great place to crash after a night game at fenway

This Howard Johnson's is very old with very few upgrades. The only reason we stay there ocassionaly is it's convienence to Fenway. You paid $20 for parking above and beyond your room rate but this is still cheaper than lot parking for the game. Each time we stay it's always a question if we will try to tough it out the next time!
