Trip Type: Special Event Review 1 of 4great value
For the money paid, it was a great value and we felt very comfortable with the staff. Not a fancy place to stay but very clean and the staff was very nice.

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 4awful experience
Lets start with the hassle. I had a late arrival becuase of a long drive from charlottetown. I had called and was told it was no problem. So I ended up getting to the hotel at just past midnight. Unfortunately for me, nobody was there. Nothing. Lights off, doors locked. There was a sign on the door telling me to call a specific number and to hit a certain extension to be let in after hours. Apparently they close the offices at 11pm!!! I have never had that happen to me before! I have never had a hotel not be open around the clock number one. But even if they had to close it would have been nice to know about this ahead of time. So I called the number and it rang for 7 minute straight. I timed it. Then i waited, and called again. and again. And again. There was never any answer so I couldnt hit the extension anyway. Fortunately I found another place to stay but it cost me literally twice what I had already paid to stay here. For the lack of professionalism and the absolute disregard for any form of service I say stay as far away as you can.

Trip Type: Business Review 4 of 4Not your typical HJ...
The room itself was decent enough, clean but funky-smelling. The outside of the hotel is very outdated and needs maintenance, the air conditioning is window units, which have heavy curtains in front of them, so you have to find some weird arrangement to get air in the room. The location is a considerable drive to downtown Halifax...it is really a Bedford hotel, so the price is fine for what you get.
