I don't usually use extra services if they cost more but paying $10 for Internet per day, and charging for a parking lot that appears never to be full seems like a 1990s thing to do for a hotel. Seems like they care more about look and style than providing good service.

Trip Type: Family Review 22 of 376Good Hotel and Location
Attractive hotel near Gateway Arch and downtown St. Louis in a transitioning neighborhood. Although we had a suite reserved for 3 adults, we had to phone to request bedding for the sofa-bed and it took a long time for it to be delivered. However, all the staff at the hotel were very helpful and pleasant. The buffet in the casino was delicious.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 23 of 376We loved the Hotel. Great room for the money
We had a great time in St Louis. This Hotel was great. Our suite was wonderful. We had a view of the Arch and of downtown. We went to the Arch. Had dinner at the Kitchen Buffet, it was very good. Had fun in the Casino. In the evening we sat outside a resturant had a drink listened to a guy playing the saxaphone. We would come back.

Trip Type: Romance Review 24 of 376Great modern styled hotel
Had a great one night stay here. Chose this place because I wanted to be near entertainment and restaurants. I did not visit the casino because I don't gamble but everything was within walking distance for us. For those who need to be near the Busch stadium, this would have been a 5-10 minute walk as you can see the stadium through the hotel window. The TV in the room did not turn on and the maintenance guy came up quick to service that. The only thing that peeved me, and this was partly my lack of caution, was I booked a king-sized suite online and was not aware that I got the smoking room. I am not a smoker and I could definitely smell it in our room. The only other option was a non smoking queen-sized bed suite. It did not turn me away as the smell was not too irritating for me and my girlfriend is an occasional smoker. I would stay here again if I wanted to be near Laclede's Landing or the casino, but I like to try new places with every visit.

Trip Type: Romance Review 26 of 376My engagement weekend
We stayed at Hotel Lumiere at the end of August and it was wonderful. The hotel left a complimentary bottle of champagne in our room, because they knew I was proposing to my fiancee that Friday night. It was a great place to stay for the occasion.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 27 of 376A must stay
We were very impressed with the HoteLumière Suites and Casino in our short time we were their. The employee's. were very friendly and kind and very helpful. As for the room their were many light fixtures that did not work, and the furniture was dusty and mirrors were smeared other then that we found the hotel is a great place. We had a great time the night we stayed! The food and the Casino was great as well as the employees! We recommended the hotel and we will return if we are down that way again. We did mention when checking out about our problems with the room and they where concern and they did take note.

Trip Type: Romance Review 28 of 376Great place to relax and have fun
If you are planning a vacation in St. Louis this is the best hotel to relax and have a great time. The service was excellent. The Beds are the most comfortable and clean. My wife and I had a wonderful time and can't wait to return.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 29 of 376Lost booking, no apology, awful service
We booked this hotel online and pre-paid and arrived to drop bags off to go to the baseball. When we arrive they said they had no notice of our booking or payment. They wandered off from the reception leaving us to feel like idiots. It took 30mins to get it sorted and we missed the start of the baseball due to the same. No apology was forthcoming. We booked a room which stated online "two roomed suite" we got back and it was actually one room with two queen beds in there - we were two couples sharing and so one couple took the sofa bed in the lounge. When we queried this we were told "two rooms" meant one bedroom and a lounge. This is totally misleading and I questioned why they hadn't then included the bathroom so it could be advertised as a three-roomed suite! Again no apology or concern whatsoever that they had mislead us. We asked about breakfast and were told it finished at 10.30am and so we went down and we were then told there was no breakfast. The lifts took forever to arrive and the general staff around the building were rude and ignorant. The air con did not work in the lounge. Terrible service, poor staff and I would rather sleep in the car then go back here!

Trip Type: Family Review 30 of 376Excellent place to stay in St. Louis
My wife and stayed for one night while attending a Cardinals baseball game. We had an option to walk to the game 3/4 mile or take the shuttle that the Lumiere link provided. The hotel is also connected to the casino and has many dining options that can all be charged to your room. We loved the view our room had of the MLK bridge over the Mississippi. Our bed was supremely comfortable. My wife and I thought the bathrooms were rather small and that the shower heads were surprisingly cheap. The bath products are excellent. We did not like the fact that wi-fi was a $5.95 charge and self parking was $10.00. The hotel staff responded to our needs when our coffee maker did not work and when we needed plastic ware for food. I loved the mini bar option they have in the fridges however it leaves very little room to store your own food or drinks. Loved having 2 flat screens with tons of viewing options. We ordered a movie that is still in theaters and were able to watch it from the comfort of our room. The decor of the rooms is modern and very stylish. My wife and I can't wait to stay here again. Next time we'll upgrade.
