    Hotel Lumiere is a nice hotel, and adjacent to one of the nicer casinos in St Louis. Lobby is impressive, the rooms are nice, clean and very large. It's all that it's cracked up to be except for a few things. 1) We were there for 36 hours, and we had to have our key cards re-magnetized 4 times. Very frustrating, and the front desk was none too apologetic about it. 2) Parking is $10 per day for hotel guests, but on the other side of the fence casino parking is free. Hhhmm. 3)The Lumiere casino charges $4-5 for alcoholic drinks. I have never experienced this before, and don't appreciate it. 4) Although rooms are very big, bathrooms are super tiny. What's up with that? Otherwise we had a great stay and might stay again.

Location. The HoteLumière Suites and Casino is located in St. Louis, Mo., three blocks from Laclede's Landing and Edward Jones Dome. The hotel is four blocks from the Gateway Arch and America Center.

Hotel Features. A four-story waterfall is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2009. A pool and health club are on site. There is also a garden atrium at the HoteLumière. The hotel and casino walls feature commissioned original artwork. Restaurants include Asia, serving authentic Asian cuisine. The Kitchen Buffet and Bistro serves lunch, dinner and Sunday champagne brunch. The Burger Bar offers classic American burgers. Nightlife features Aqua bar.

Guestrooms. The 295 guestrooms at HoteLumière offer Mississippi River, Gateway Arch or downtown views. Beds include pillowtop mattresses and Egyptian-cotton linens. iPod docking stations, flat panel televisions and wireless Internet access are provided. Coffeemakers feature Wolfgang Puck coffee. Bathrooms contain Gilchrest & Soames toiletries.

Expert Tip. Connected to the HoteLumière via a skybridge is the Lumiere Place Casino, spanning 75,000 square feet. The casino includes more than 2,000 slot machines, 45 table games and 13 poker tables.
