Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 3 of 230Europe amidst modernity
I loved this hotel. For the price, it provided great atmosphere. From the antique furniture throughout the hotel, the artwork, the classic old Otis elevator that was man/woman operated, the cafe with included breakfast, the ambience was fabulous. A block from all the shopping and restaurants was great as well. The only drawback was the smell. The cleaning solutions they used created an odor that was mildly unpleasant. Someone who is really sensitive to that would be unhappy. For me, if it were in any other place, would have been more of a problem. But in the atmosphere of this lovely pension styled hotel, I was willing to overlook it. However, if they read this, it would be great if they would switch to more organic solutions. Then this place would be perfect. Highly recommended.

Trip Type: Business Review 5 of 230Quaint boutique hotel in a quiet and convenient location
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Hotel St. Michel. The staff was courteous, attentive, and the service prompt and impeccable. My only source of slight vexation was that my room was next to the elevator, and proved to be a gathering place for a particularly loud group of fellow travelers. Despite this somewhat inconvenient location, I had an excellent time.

Trip Type: Romance Review 7 of 230Huge Expectations, Big Let Down
Reading the reviews on Hotels.com I was geeked up to see Hotel St. Michel. I planned a romantic weekend for my husband's birthday and I was really disappointed. Starting with arriving at the hotel there was no parking at the building we had to park across the street and carry our luggage. The receptionist did not offer us any help. The set up outside the hotel could use work. There were old tables outside that were not being used (so I didn't see the purpose for them). The lobby and restaurant could use work. The most exciting thing was the old fashioned elevator. Our room was small. That's an understatement. The bed wasn't much bigger than a twin sized bed. The floors were old and felt unsecure. My husband thanked me for wanting to try something new but he said he would prefer modern hotels. The bathroom was small and the shower was rusted. The sink had a slow leak. All in all I was geared up for a great romantic getaway and I was disappointed.

Trip Type: Business Review 8 of 230Simple yet charming
Overall, my experience at this hotel was positive. The hotel staff was very friendly and accomodating. The room was simple and adequate for my needs. The room was a little dirty but nothing to get upset about. The free wifi worked great.

Trip Type: Business Review 9 of 230Charming Hotel
Hotel St. Michel may not have some of the amenities of a more modern hotel, such as a restaurant or room service, but my stay was perfectly charming. The rooms were comfortable and clean, the staff was friendly and responded quickly to any request. I will definitely stay there again if I have the opportunity.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 10 of 230Great Find!
My wife and I stayed there the day before our cruise. Very nice hotel. Neat old features such as the elevator. Would make a nice romantice getaway. Small coffee shops, Dennys and Miracle mile are a short walk away. Hotel staff was very friendly. Felt like home.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 11 of 230St. Michel - Best kept secret in Miami
If you are looking for a hotel with character and class, Hotel St. Michel is what you are looking for. The hotel is very historic and located just off of "Miracle Mile" in Miami. The interior is classic French decoration, with beautiful hard-wood floors. The rooms are spacious and make you feel like you've been transported to France. It has modern amenities like a flat-screen LCD TV blended in with the classic setting. A true gem of a hotel in Miami!

The location is great, the rooms are charming and the staff is pleasant. The inside door handle to the room fell off as we were leaving, there is a strong odor of perfumed cleaning products and the stairway carpet needs replacing. Once we aired the room, the odor went away. It's an old hotel.

Trip Type: Romance Review 14 of 230Creepy hotel
This hotel is extremely old, not that its a problem but the second we walked into our room we could smell the scent of OLD. The bathroom we had had rust on the tub, they do not supply with the correct toiletries. They gave us two soaps, one shampoo, and two mouthwashs. I've stayed at more simpler hotels and they always have conditioner. There was no fruit in our room as the site mentioned, and the complementary breakfast? Was insane. On top of the bar, there was one tray covered with a blanket that obtained exactly 5 pastries, (2 croissants, and 3 muffins). Mind you we had breakfast at 8:30am, its not like we woke up late and the food ran out. There was coffee and orange juice, and thats it. No cereal, no eggs, no toast, no fresh fruit. Not your usual complimentary breakfast. The hotel is very creepy and old, makes you feel like if you are in a scary movie. My suggestion is pay a little more, and get a lot more than you would at the St. Michel.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 15 of 230Cute, Very clean, Friendly Staff
We were attending a conference so really we were at the hotel only at night. My husband said he really didn't have time to enjoy it, but I loved all the little details: the decoration, the wooden floors in the room and all tile in the bathroom, the fixtures, the beautiful french windows, the old style elevator, the hotel entry and foyer, and the seet, very helpful gentleman who checked us in. It was a great room for the money and it is in a very nice area - 2-3 minutes from the Miracle Mile 7-8 minutes from UM. There are several nice restaurants on the Miracle Mile, and even just a couple blocks over, as well as 4 or 5 nice bakeries and coffee shops. I absolutely loved our time there and would definitely stay again if we are in the area.
