Trip Type: Not Provided Review 1 of 92Great room at a reasonable price.
I found Hotel San Carlos to be a great place to stay. The room rate was economical and the staff was friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Trip Type: Business Review 2 of 92Excellent 1920's hotel
The hotel is in great shape for its age. It's located within easy walking distance of the Convention Center and Chase Field. The old pictures and photographs on the walls provided a terrific view of early downtown Phoenix.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 3 of 92ambiance, comfort, location
This historical hotel has been carefully upgraded to enhance it's original erra. It's ambiance is well appreciated. The Irish Pub next door was friendly and conveniently located. A enjoyable place to stay and will be revisited. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 4 of 92Great for the money
Great Location to lightrail and really nice staff. Not a whole lot of paring and the valet takes a while to get your car. Really old rooms and plumbing (cold to hot shower) but for the cheap room in a nice downtown location I would fully recomend this hotel.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 5 of 92Bring your earplugs!
I started my stay at this hotel on a bad note, they told me there was self parking - they lied! There is only valet, and the sour woman I was greeted by really made me mad. Then we got up to our creepy room and realized we could hear every conversation on the floor - until 5 AM. The hotel did not do anything to quiet the offenders, so i pretty much spent an entire weekend on my vacation with no sleep. I absolutely hated this hotel and would not recommend it to anyone!!

Trip Type: Business Review 6 of 92Old Hotel
This is an old hotel. The rooms were clean but somewhat dated. The restraunts were closed. About what I expected for the price.

Trip Type: Business Review 7 of 92Small bathroom
As long as you can get along with limited space in the bathroom, the rooms are fine

Trip Type: Business Review 8 of 92nice historic hotel, but...
...I had to wait about 20 minutes to check in because they only had one person working the front desk and the woman ahead of me had some sort of strange coupon thing that took them forever to figure out. Plus, the water temperature of the shower was highly variable, and alternated from being scorching to ice cold. Fun.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 9 of 92Historic San carlos is a nice place to stay
Was so surprised in the Hotel San Carlos. Great historic building. Great old timey feeling. Room was small and expected, Esp bathroom. Fun bar down stairs. Restaurant was average. Excellent location to new light rail for phoenix public transport.

Trip Type: Business Review 10 of 92Outdated and Inconvenient for Business
The room was small - I had to climb over the bed when my husband made coffee. Bathroom was small and outdated. Seperate faucets for hot and cold water. I requested a Queen bed and they gave us 2 doubles. Not enough towels.

Trip Type: Business Review 12 of 92Older Boutique Hotel - rooms are small, bathroom is tiny
I loved the history of the hotel and the artwork in the hallways representing the celebrities of "yesteryear." I was comfortable as a single person in a very small room. If I had been traveling with my partner it would have felt quite cramped. The bathroom is like a tiny closet with no bathtub. Again it is manageable for one person. The room was very nicely furnished and kept clean. The decor was appropriate for the historical nature of the hotel. Hotel service was very good.

Trip Type: Business Review 13 of 92Please Update
They need to bring this hotel into the 20 th century. No internet access, pool was closed, inconvenient parking and indifferent staff. Not what I expected.
