Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 32 of 227Outstanding Hotel at twice the price
I got a good deal and knew it would be boutique style, since it is one of the Kimpton's. Room, Service, information about the surrounding area were all World Class. Oh and they even do a cold Pizza and Bloody Mary thing in the afternoons. I give Hotel Rouge my highest recommendation!

Trip Type: Business Review 33 of 227Nice Hotel
Nice hotel, hip vibe, great area - close to DuPont Circle, 18th Street restaurants, heart of DC, without being "in it" - quiet, relaxed. ONE CAUTION! Be sure to avoid rooms near the elevator, my room was on the 2nd floor, across from the elevators and there was a constant mechanical humming noise all the time! Fortunately, I had earplugs and was only staying the one night.

Trip Type: Business Review 38 of 227Sneaky breakfast fee
For the most part, I liked Hotel Rouge and its decor and attitude. I thought it was cute that it had extra services like complimentary wine hour each night. But when I went down to breakfast one morning, I had no idea their "continental breakfast" was a fixed price buffet. So for the bagel and coffee I got, they charged me $15, adding two gratuity fees to boot (there was no waiter, it was self-serve). They dropped off the bill as I was eating my bagel. I was a little blindsided by that extra charge, and it didn't make me want to go to the wine hour, in case that had a sneaky fee attached too.

The Rouge was a pleasant surprise considering the amount I paid. I will always stay here when in D.C.

Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 44 of 227For the price I expected less but got more
In terms of decor, this is not your visually traditional/basic/corporate looking type of hotel. If you are looking for something different, bright, red, colorful & affordable this would be the place to stay. The plus side was the staff, service, location, convenience...the additional things one may forget (tooth brush, hairdryer...were for free while other things such as a night gown or bath robe can be charged to your bill if used). Theres a work out facility, 1 internet computer to rent per 15 min... I stayed in a 1 queen size bed that had a TV, Cable, internet connection & fridge which is a plus for me)...When there ask for a higher floor especially if you are there on a Fri & Sat cause it can get a bit noisy especially in the summer time...The one major flaw was the bed sheets. I was itchy & scratching which I thought there were bed bugs or something like that. The following night I had no problems.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 45 of 227Excellent hotel, great location, friendly and helpful staff.
My daughter and I fell in love with this hotel. It was everything that we expected, and so much more. Upon our arrival,we were greeted by the friendliest staff in Washington, D.C. who made us feel very much at home.It is located close to the Dupont Circle and Farragut North Metro Stations. There are many Great restaurants, as well as a CVS drugstore,Safeway and Whole Foods market. We felt very safe walking back to the hotel after a long day of sightseeing. Should you decide to stay at the Hotel Rouge during your next visit to Washington, D.C., you will not be dissapointed.
