    If you're staying in Algeciras because it's cheaper than Gibraltar and the surrounding area...this is the place to stay. It's a very nice hotel located close to the bus station, train station, and the port. Very well kept, clean with great views from the balconies. However, surrounding areas are not the greatest.

Located in Algeciras on Spain's Costa del Sol the Reina Cristina is a traditional Victorian-style hotel built in 1901 with 50,000 square meters of mature gardens. Set around a central patio, the hotel has a colonial feel, with its ornate wrought iron balconies, marble columns and period furniture in the lounge areas. The 188 air conditioned guestrooms have a light, neutral décor and all include balconies, safes, telephones and satellite television.

Guests can enjoy a relaxing drink by the outdoor swimming pool, have a workout in the gym or play tennis on one of two courts. The hotel's extensive gardens have jogging and walking trails and there is also a pool table and TV room. The main restaurant serves an international menu, buffet style and there is also an a la carte restaurant offering typical Spanish dishes in a relaxed setting. There are numerous leisure activities in the vicinity, with golfing, canoeing, darts, archery, rifle shooting and ping pong facilities all nearby. The hotel is located one kilometer from the train station and around three kilometers from the main center, with the beach, market and port within five kilometers. Algeciras is the main departure point for ferries to North Africa and the nearest airport is Gibraltar Airport, approximately 20 minutes driving time and distance of 20 kilometers.
