Hotel Poseidon

Great Location but so-so maintenance

Hotel is located two blocks from the beach and one block from the main strip with the clubs, bars and restaurants. Would definitely stay here again. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking across the street for $6/day (very reasonable).

Location was excellent, staff helpful. Building is old, shower head horrible, only trickling water, but I was staying for 1 night only so didn't make a fuss. "included breakfast" was very basic, opted for the menue breakfast which was very good.

Very 3rd World...

• Dark, no windows to the outside • A/C leaking waterfall filled garbage can with water, but I was able to sleep the sound of a tropical waterfall. (or so I told myself) • Shower was pitched out to the room, so they put rolled up towels to collect the water or the room would have been flooded. • Cockroaches and 1 good size Spider.(to be expected I guess) • 8 am hotel worker literally hammering and sawing 3 ft from my head on the other side of the exterior wall, while the made staff was (sounded like they were having a party with piñatas and shuffleboard). I asked the clerk at the desk “what time are we allowed to sleep till?” He chuckled. • The next day, no hot water at 7 am as we got up for our fishing excursion. Very 3rd World... but they were friendly.

Not bad for Jaco

Jaco is pretty much a run down surfer town with pretty good night life. The hotel options are very limited and are pretty low quality overall. Poseidon is not a bad option if you are seeking a slight upgrade to a barebones experience. Think slightly charming budget accomodation. I liked it was near Tsunami, a good sushi and party spot.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel and couldn't have been happier with our choice. The hotel staff was extremely accomidating and helpful, with great personalities. The resurant and bar served good food and drinks, and the location was ideal...just a few steps to the beach.

Great location, especially for the money...

I stayed here on a recent trip to Costa Rice with three friends. The extra person fess associated with the room were the cheapest we could find and typical of most hotels in CR. The room was more than big enough for everyone and all of our things. The staff was helpful with all questions and concerns. The hotel was right downtown, we didn't need our car at all in Jaco. The restaurant at the hotel is a little pricey for dinner, but a great deal for breakfast, lunch, and drinks. My only very very minor critique of the hotel would be that the sheets in and pillows were a bit worn and itchy... but that would be my only critique if someone pushed me! This was a great place to stay and I would recommend it to any young travels heading to Jaco for a fun and relaxing vacation!!!

Great place to stay, central to everything, Tim and Chrissy are awesome. Food is excellent, all the staff is frinedly and beautiful.

Great Deal and Great Customer Service

I would recommend this hotel to anybody who's going to Jaco for partying. The help there is excellent and very helpful.
