Wonderful Hotel Experience

This is the second time we stayed at this hotel this year. The location can't be beat. We loved the extra sitting area in the room and having a fire in the fireplace on cool evenings.

Great Character and convenient

The hotel has great character in tune with Santa Fe, it is only a short walk and the room was great. The only negative is that we had a room with a fireplace, and only the hotel staff can light a fire. Despite a couple of requests they never came, which was a disappointment.

Needs Improvement - Great Location

Housekeeping did not make the bed; they would pull the sheets over the mattress and leave the comforter piled on the floor along with the throw pillows! On the floor! When I had an urgent, time-sensitive delivery at the front desk, no one told me it was there; there was no phone message for me, no note. When I asked the person at the desk, he scolded me for not having been in my room when the delivery initially arrived. I've written to the front desk manager (two days ago) and not received any response. The hotel is pet-friendly, and most of the staff are very nice. I wouldn't stay here again because by the time the pet fee is added into the room cost even at rock-bottom, off-season rates, along with the parking fee, the charge per night becomes way too expensive in the off-season for what one is getting - even on the Plaza. There are other options in the neighborhood which are more in line with the money.

It is a nice small hotel.

Just right for the price.

This hotel has atmosphere coming out of the woodwork. The way my room was set up was perfect. I had a sitting room with a fireplace, a well lit vanity mirror with sink, another sink for drinking water and coffee making, and a seperate bathroom. The location is right off of the famous Santa Fe plaza and an easy walk to great museums, art galleries, and othe attractions of Santa Fe. I wish that I had known about the parking fees before I took my rental car there. Otherwize, a terrific buy.

Loved it!!

The hotel was wonderful. We had a room with a fireplace. The weather was crisp so the fire was great. Location to the plaza is amazing. Only drawback was they've installed new firealarms and we were awaken witha shrill at about 2 in the morning, then again at about 7 as they are still working out the kinks. Would've loved if they had comped us a meal or a hotel discount.Will still go back but checking first that the firealarms are functioning properly.

Good value & location, but a little older & "worn-in" ...

Great location. Good value. Friendly and helpful staff. Underground parking area was well lit. Carpet in room was a bit worn, and the comforter seemed like it had been around a while. Sheets, however, were bright and clean. Cleaning staff had missed a couple things after the previous guests. Found their room keys on mantle & leftovers in the refrigerator. Air conditioning was not operational (not needed at this time of year anyway), and fireplace required lighting by hotel staff only. If they were to update carpet & comforter (or possibly just shampoo & dry-clean, respectively), I'd pay more to stay there. Great folks, but they need to reinvest in the property to stay in the game ...

Great Deal and Location

The rate was exceptional for the quality and location. Then when we checked in we were upgraded from a standard king to a mini suite. Lots of space. Like other reviews, the place, especially the carpeting is showing its age, but still in good condition. Watch out for long stair climbs to some of the rooms. If you can't handle stairs at SF's 7000 foot elevation, get a first floor room. Overall couldn't have been more pleased.

Everything met or exceeded our expectations. Even the weather could not have been improved upon.

Very nice

Great location, and a nice clean, relaxed environment. Walk distance to everything.

Great Place

Very pleased with the accomodations. Did find out after arriving that the air conditioning had been turned off hotel wide, but the weather had turned cooler and did not cause a problem. The location was perfect, just walk out the front door, turn to the left and you were in the middle of the Plaza downtown.Parking was convenient, safe and protected from the elements.
