This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. The room was excellent, the location was close to all the downtown attractions and the service was top notch.

The staff was very courteous and the hotel meet our needs and the location to the Power and Light district is astounding.

The hotel was an overall good value. There was dust in the room by the floorboards and on the mirrors. The sheets were clean as were the other restrooms facilities.

The Hotel Phillips is an okay property. The rooms are fine but the decorating is tired. I was hoping it would be restored to some of its historic splendor. However it was fine until you hit the workout room. Ugh. The equipment was RUSTED and in poor repair. It was stuffy, no fan and old, old tvs. With a little bit of effort it could be upgraded.

Great Location but this place is not as "pawsh" as it seems to claim. Ice only on certian floors and room service took 45 minutes. Did not have the Aveda products it advertised and the robes have been around for too long.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 22 of 370Outstanding Hotel!
This hotel had everything a guest could ever need in a hotel. It is located conveniently in the heart of downtown Kansas City, a short walk or cab ride to the convention center, the Power and Light District, as well as bars and restaurants. The hotel staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, the bell boy even had the weather report for my hometown on the day I was checking out. The rooms were clean, there was a bar and there was a nice restaurant located inside the hotel itself. The hotel is old, but has a charming vintage decor throughout! My only gripe, no ice machine on my floor ;) Overall, this hotel was fantastic.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 23 of 370Exceeded My Expectations!
I was not expecting this hotel to be as nice as it was, believing the cost was mostly due to location. Nevertheless, it exceeded my expectations. They prep your bed like you are on a cruise ship. Staff was extremely friendly. Complimentary Valet Service. It doesn't have that great of a free breakfast buffet, but hotels usually that nice don't usually offer free breakfast, so who can complain? I will definitely stay here again. Great value for the money.

Great location, good value. Rooms were a little small, but were very nice. Old hotel, but nicely remodeled.

Good location but that's about it. Service was okay, but something we should not have had to ask for... like toilet paper in our room!

Trip Type: With Friends Review 30 of 370Hotel Phillips is the BOMB!
I was so pleasantly satisfied with Hotel Phillips - I was horseshowing at the Kemper arena - just a few blocks down on 12th street. The location was SO easy! The hotel is bvery attractive with marble and statues - very Gothem City. Staff was exceptioanlly helpful. Parking is not available at the hotel - but there were three city parking ramps just around any of the corners - took cash, credit card, anything. Additionally, there was valet parking. The rooms were very comfortable with fabulous bedding. Carpets old - but didn't bother me. The breakfast that was included with the price was underwhelming - oatmeal and fruit - that's it. It was better than nothing. The fitness room was well appointed with a good selection of free seights qnd machines - however the elliptical is in need of repair. The billing was accurate and efficient check out. Will stay again if I have the chance.
