Trip Type: Romance Review 2 of 959Begrudging recommendation
Had real issues with the hotel; bad rooms, reassigned to a room that wasn't serviced, very slow check-in etc, but the attention and service once we complained was prompt and courteous, and in the end the convenience of the location and the adequate (but not great) room makes this a useful hotel to have in Midtown.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 3 of 959what a wreck
First off check-in was about an hour long. then the room was about 8x4 with the most disgusting tub i have ever seen. The location was great, but once you walked in the door it was hell.

Trip Type: Business Review 4 of 959Great location, good services, but too long wait at reception
Superb location, and very reasonable room and bed. Good continental breakfast and even reasonable coffee. The only negative experience was the wait for reception. Perhaps because it was Friday afternoon, I had to wait for almost an hour, standing in line with my luggage.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 6 of 959Location Only
The only reason to stay at the Hotel Pennsylvania is the proximity to Penn Station and Maddison Square Garden. Even with its decent rates, it is completely falling apart, except, perhaps, the room doors that look like the doors you would see for solitary confienment in a prison movie. I expected to see Freddy Krueger wandering the halls. Seriously, it is beyond sketchy -- it is outright creepy.

Trip Type: Romance Review 7 of 959Great location, shabby facilities
We stayed for 3 nights at the Pennsylvania, partially because of the location and partially because of the history (Pennsylvania 65000!). But really the hotel just trading on its name and location at this point. The room we were in had scruffed walls, torn sheet rock and street noise even on the 9th floor. For $300 a night we got a room shabbier than any Motel 6 or Day's Inn I've ever been in.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 9 of 959Times Square on short notice
It was cheaper than all the other centrally located hotels. Despite its only 2-star rating I thought the hotel was clean and well-run. Very efficient.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 12 of 959Great room for the money
Great location and considering prices in New York, great all around. Nice that they had free breakfast.
