the employees and even the other guests were great. Matt at the front desk very helpful for dinner choices. Loved the wine party at 5pm!

Trip Type: With Friends Review 4 of 247Great hotel - free wine reception!
Very spacious rooms. Free wine reception every evening. Good location for the sights. Only negative - noisy over the weekend though as lots of functions in the hotel. Walls seemed a bit thin!

Very clean, chic hotel in a great location. Service is really friendly, great restaurant downstairs. Parking is expensive.

Trip Type: Romance Review 7 of 247Decent Hotel
It's a decent hotel that doesn't cost too much for what you get. The room was clean as well as the facilities, although it was a little tight. It's very close to the metro which is the best way to get around DC. We weren't impressed with the surrounding area (restaurants, shops, etc.), but it's a good deal if you're checking out the free Smithsonian Museums (best part of my whole trip).

Trip Type: With Friends Review 8 of 247Great stay
I spend 4 nights in the Palomar Hotel, and it was a great place to stay in. The Bar is elegant and the drinks are not expensive at all... The staff is very nice and helpfull and the decoration of the hotel is pretty design. I loved the colors inside, peacefull place.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 12 of 247Beware of hidden costs
Overall, we were very happy with the hotel. The size of our room was ideal and spacious. Decor is current and modern. Free wine and appetizers in the lobby every evening. All in all, a pleasant weekend. Two negatives: 1) our room had a stale smoke smell to it, like it had been a smoking room at one point but they couldn't get rid of the stench. 2) My sisters and I met in DC and had two cars between us. Upon checkout, we were handed a $155 bill for parking (we stayed 2 nights). We had no idea parking was so much money and would probably have stayed elsewhere if we had. Hope this helps.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 13 of 247Great Service, Good Hotel
The service at the Hotel Palomar is excellent. We were in DC after a biking and camping trip in West Virgina. The Hotel helped us wash and store our bikes. They also allowed us to leave baggage at the hotel several days prior to checking in. All staff, from the front door man, reception, concierge, and restaurant staff were all very nice and accommodating (even when we arrived covered in mud and grim from the bike trip. We stayed in a suite that was very comfortable and clean. It was just what we needed after being in the wilderness for 3 days. I would highly recommend this hotel. The location is also very convenient.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 15 of 247Great location
If you are like me, that loves to go places on foot, loves Dupont Circle and Georgetown, this hotel is in a GREAT location for you! You are close enough to Georgetown to go there walking and avoid traffic and parking yet you have easy access to downtown and major touristic spots. If you enjoy going for a run, you can always go to the Embassy Row (very close to the hotel), and enjoy running in a beautiful neighborhood (and brush-up on the names of the foreign countries as you pass by their embassies! :-))
