classy and tasteful

We loved the Okura and would return there. The lobby is exquisite. The staff is warm and helpful. The rooms were thoughtfully appointed. Good health club and pool. The best in Japanese hospitality and taste. The location is quiet enough to be a good place to get over jet lag and yet central to all sorts of Tokyo sights. It is not, however, smack in the middle of any of the hot areas, so expect to take a cab or subway when you go out. The only caveat is that the hotel food service is quite expensive, and so we never ate in the hotel, but took all meals out.
