Trip Type: Family Review 16 of 506Great weekend
This hotel has excellent staff, willing to serve or help in any way. The room was nicely sized (I read some of the reviews ahead of time, but ours was lovely). The bath was elegant and well designed. We ate Sunday brunch (fairly ordinary, not worth the price). All in all, a very good weekend. The hotel needs a bit of a brush up in the hallways. The halls end up looking dirty because of the carpeting. The location was perfect for our plans.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 18 of 506Contemporary styling, great service.
Clean, contemporary rooms. Large baths with standing tub were the highlight of the over-sized, bright room. The linens were supple. We loved the hotel.

Trip Type: Romance Review 19 of 506Nice Stay
Nikko Floor room was smaller than expected. But the view and hotel amenities were terrific. Too bad that the in-room TV did not have access to local cable system or have a DVD player to go along with the Tuner/CD player. Internet access was terrific. Bathroom and related amenities were terrific. Thanks !

Trip Type: With Friends Review 22 of 506Service Bad and Condescending
I booked a Deluxe King room and when I arrived I was told they were out of this type of room. I was told the room I got was considered "Deluxe" but without the King bed. The front desk staff and manager were unwilling to try and make things right at first. All I wanted was what I booked. They eventually gave us free internet access for the rest of the stay and said they could move me into the actual room I booked the next day. They offered this after about 15 minutes of wrangling at the front desk. The thing that disappointed me the most is how reluctant they were to try and correct the problem. I accepted the internet offer, but did not want to move all of my stuff again the next day. The kicker is our friends checked into a Deluxe room after us. After I saw the size of their room I knew, I was not booked in a Deluxe room like they said I was. I've stayed in many hotels nicer than this one. I frankly am unsure how they maintain such a high rating. The rooms are small as most rooms in San Francisco are, but they were poorly furnished with dinged up miss-matched furniture. I had several maintenance issues as well: curtain rod separated from curtains, bathroom sink handle was broken, the remote control for the tv only allowed you to "channel up" so you had to go all the way around or type in the channel number to return to a channel. Lastly, they have great HD tvs, but no high definition programming which in my opinion defeats the purpose of having the really nice, big flat screen tv. For the prices, they need to provide HD broadcasting. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Save your money.

Trip Type: Romance Review 26 of 506Needs Improvement
The hotel has great security during the night. You need to use your key card in order to get it. The bad part of it was that you have to pay 45 dollars a night for parking. Considering the amount of money that you are paying to stay there the parking should be free. I rented 2 rooms, and in one of the room the rug had a lot of stains on them. The view is not that great at all.

When I got there and checked in, the room I requested wasn't available.. the junior suite they gave me a king bed which they were going to charge me additional for the roll away bed when my confirmation clearly stated "double queen" when I called them to bring me my bed I never received my roll away. Check in stated 12 noon but when I got my receipt in the morning it stated 11a. Over all the hotel was really nice, the room was really clean, surround sound, flat screen tv's, the works.

Trip Type: Romance Review 28 of 506Good Value, but a couple of areas for improvement
We booked into Hotel Nikko during one of their sales on Hotel.com. As this reduced our price by 40%, we felt we received good value. However, the room lacked an easy chair or similar for sitting and reading or watching TV. 1 side of the bathroom mirror vanity lights wasn't working, but we didn't call for maintenance as we were only staying overnight. The hotel is very convenient to many areas of downtown SF.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 30 of 506Great hotel, small room
We're sure that other rooms were larger than ours. It appears that certain rooms are reserved for "low budget" clients and apparently Hotels.com is considered one of them. Fine for one night, but tight quarters.
