Trip Type: Not Provided Review 1 of 74Great Hotel in a superb area of DC!
Our room was fantastic, the location of the hotel was great. The hotel restaurant wasn't what we were hoping for, but there's plenty of places nearby, so it wasn't a problem. They didn't have cereal or oatmeal on the menu for breakfast, which doesn't make sense. Other than the restaurant, our stay was perfect! Next time we're in DC, we'll stay at the Hotel Monaco!!

Trip Type: Business Review 6 of 74Amazing Space
The Hotel Monaco was the first US General Post Office built in the 1800's. The large rooms are 900 square feet and the small ones are 600 square feet. Beautifully decorated and appointed with friendly and helpful staff.

Trip Type: Romance Review 8 of 74Floor and room smelled like mold. Mold on shower curtain.
I have stayed at other Kimpton Hotels and been very satisfied. Based on this experience, my wife and I booked 2 nights at the Hotel Monaco for an Oxford Reunion in Washington, D.C. When I checked in and went to my room, I was surprised at how small it was - barely enough room for the bed. I called the front desk and asked if they had something larger. They offered to "upgrade" us to a king size room. This room was on the "1st" floor, which was actually the basement. That would not have been a problem as it was a larger, more comfortable room and very quiet. The problem was the floor smelled like mold and our room smelled even worse. We discovered mold on the bottom of the shower curtain. Cleaning staff removed our wine glasses after first night and did not replace them. On demand movies were very "fuzzy" and the staff could not correct the poor quality. Do not stay here.

Trip Type: Romance Review 10 of 74Good Hotel, Bad Experience
The hotel was beautiful. It was a great location. But we were given a handicap room, which isn't a problem if the front desk would have told us or asked us if that was ok. It was a suprise when we got to the room to find it out. Also, the systems were down, meaning that the were virtually no services. Neither room service nor internet was available.

Trip Type: Romance Review 11 of 74Beautiful Accomodations in an Outstanding location
Great Stay - only one night, but everything was great. While a bit pricey (but to be expected for the quality and location), it met all of our expectations. The only minor complaint was getting the temperature to be comfortable - between te very thick comforter and efficient heating, it was a challenge to get it perfect for sleeping. But we did get it figured out eventually.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 12 of 74Lovely Hotel & great location
The service was exceptional at Hotel Monaco and we found the location very convenient to walking to the White House and other places we wanted to see. Our room was a little small, but for the price we thought it was a good deal for the money. The staff was extremely helpful and accomodating.

Trip Type: Romance Review 13 of 74Great hotel
My husband and I stayed at Hotel Monaco for two nights and really enjoyed our stay. The down comforter was too hot for our taste, so we requested a blanket instead, which was much better. The rooms are a bit small, but the atmosphere is lovely. It is right across the street from the Metro and there are a variety of restaurants within walking distance, so it is very convenient. We also enjoyed the free wine hour in the evenings!
