Trip Type: Business Review 2 of 351Fading star ...
I was excited to stay at Hotel Monaco because I had heard good reviews and like Kimpton's overall commitment to environment and community. Unfortunately, my stay was less than fitting of a 4-star hotel - issues included: - towels with frayed edges and holes and room was tired and dingy (a major renovation is apparently underway) - valet losing (yes, losing) my car for 3 of the 4 days I was at the hotel, requiring me to take taxis to meetings (parking was comped and cab fares reimbursed but I still paid for a rental car that was unused) - attitude of staff when I complained about their inability to deliver my car despite allowing 15-30 minutes advance notice to bring it around (response = "your parking is comped so what's the problem") - checking in my business partner because she was arriving in very late after a long flight and just wanted to grab her key and get to her room only to have her arrive and have to check in again (was later told by front desk that I couldn't check her in and when asked why they took my credit card and allowed me to go through the check-in process, the response was "well, we shouldn't have.") - had IT problems and called help desk for support - the person on the line was clueless ... I had to tell her how to access the email settings ... and told me she would "escalate" the problem because she didn't know how to help me. Two hours later, no return call. When I called help desk again the issue was resolved with 2 easy steps - was expecting an important FEDEX package for a meeting and called front desk to ask if they could bring it up to me as soon as it arrived - waited, waited, waited and in panic checked the Fedex tracking and it had been delivered almost an hour earlier and was just sitting at the front desk. The hotel is supposed to be a shing star in Denver but it appears they are operating off an old reputation.

Trip Type: Romance Review 3 of 351Fun night
I stayed in downtown denver with easy access to great restaurants. I had a pet goldfish which was very fun. The room was very spacious and the bed extremely comfortable.

The rooms were large and a suprise with their almnost circus like decore. They think of all your needs, even a pet goldfish! Restaurant in hotel is excellent. Staff was more than helpful. Still bums me to pay for my room and then get hit up with a $28 parking fee for my car.

Trip Type: Business Review 5 of 351Great Stay
Loved the playfulness of the decor. Very comfortable rooms, spacious bathroom, great service, and excellent restaurant! Only thing is that gym had limited cardio machines and had to wait a long time in the morning before being able to get on.

Trip Type: Business Review 7 of 351Wonderful hotel with all the special touches
From the moment I entered the Monaco, I could tell this was not my normal hotel stay. Everyone from the valet who first greeted me to the maid was personable and welcoming, their rooms were delightful, the atmosphere is surprising fun and yet very comfortable - like a home away from home. Food at the hotel was fabulous, special wine and appetizers each evening was amazingly like visiting a friend at their home and being treated with good wine and special appetizers. I will be coming back.

The room was a little outdated with the analog TV. The one in Salt Lake City seemed more up to date and nicer. Itjust seems a little tired, but the staff at the hotel was very nice. The people at the spa completely ignored my husband when he went to ask them a question.

Trip Type: Romance Review 13 of 351good except the bed size.
Hotel was excellent. We were only disappointed that we had booked a King and when we got there they only had queens. However, the staff were very helpful and gave us a complimentary breakfast.

I like Kimpton hotels generally but the color scheme in my room made me feel I was in an ice cream shop. That being said, I like the hotel and the stay was comfortable and the location just 2 blocks from where I was going.
