Description
See more detailsLocation. The Hotel Manoir Victoria is located in the Old Town of Quebec City, Canada. It is next door to myriad historic sites and some of the best French cuisine in North America.
Hotel Features. The Hotel Manoir Victoria began in the early 1830's and has had a harrowing history ever since, punctuated by three fires that reduced the building to ashes in 1902, 1927 and 1947. In the interceding times, however, the hotel was an anchor for an ever increasingly cosmopolitan Quebec and was an especially fashionable destination during the exuberant 1920's. The Hotel Manoir Victoria underwent a complete renovation in 2004 that upgraded all the bedrooms and public areas and added a new wing with thirteen deluxe rooms and two additional conference rooms. Congruent with its rich history, the wing's new façade typifies the antiquity of Old Quebec. Dining at La Table du Manoir continues to be an experience for the privileged: Executive Chef Nanak Chand Vig presents a table d'hôte menu according to the season. The new Spa du Manoir offers expert body and esthetic care; an indoor pool, sauna and fitness center presents a range of relaxation options. Complimentary wireless Internet access is provided in the lobby.
Guestrooms. The Hotel Manoir Victoria offers 156 guestrooms and suites, 122 of which are smoke free. Guestrooms feature complimentary wireless Internet access and in-room climate control.
Expert Tip. A short walk from the hotel leads to the wall that once fortified Vieux-Québec (Old Town). Old Town's wall, along with its intact ramparts, bastions and other defensive works, form a clear figuration which is one of the best examples of a fortified colonial city in North America. Because of its historical importance, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) declared Old Town's fortifications a World Heritage Site in 1985.
Please note that the indoor pool will be closed from Sundays to Thursdays for the period of April 1st to June 18, 2009.
