Trip Type: Family Review 2 of 55Good Hotel
This hotel is has a great location-Downtown Montreal, walking distance to Old Montreal, Latin Quarter, Centerville and Chinatown. It has a car park where you could leave your car and not worry about it. Clean rooms, nice staff, it met all of our expectations. Great hotel for the money.

The hotel has a pretty good location. The breakfast is a very good deal. Overall, good considering the amount of money paid.

Trip Type: Romance Review 4 of 55great room for the money
nice breakfast (real croissant and pain au chocolat) in the room because they don't have a dining room to serve it. the neighborhood is fun but a little scary at night even thought I'm sure you will be safe and very nice night life closed to the hotel. free parking but you need to know how to park because there is not a lot of room to maneuver. nice staff always ready to help. closed to the subway, very convenient++++

Trip Type: Romance Review 7 of 55Great hotel for the price
Very helpful staff except when we request a second blanket in the dead of winter that was a little awkard. Free parking WOOH! A few feet away from the metro. Free breakfast. Old Montreal is just a few blocks away. Doesn't have a great view but it was worth it.

Trip Type: Romance Review 8 of 55Nice Value Play
Especially after factoring the free parking, breakfast and local calls, this place probably saved me $30/night, which was on top of the all ready low rates...No fitness facility, of course, but there's a big health club right up the street that only charged $12 for 24-hours which I took advantage of...About a 15-minute walk to Old Montreal. The staff here was wonderful.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 9 of 55great room for the money
The hotel and our room were tidy and clean, and the hotel is convenient to Rue St. Denis. The parking lot can be a bit tricky to get into -- if you're renting a car, make it a compact. Street is a bit dark.

Trip Type: Romance Review 10 of 55in the middle of it all
this hotel is not for the person looking for something fancy. It's a nice hotel that Is situated in the middle of all the action. Only 15 some steps off of St. Lauruant st. It has a certain charm that travelers apperciate. Tourists should probably stay some where more exspensive. The front desk was amazing in knowledge of the city and had great recomendations for dinner. I had a great time.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 11 of 55Great price and excellent for travellers on a budget
This hotel is not the best I have been to and surely is not the worst. The interior is in good condition. Each rooms have its uniqueness to it. Walking distance to St. Catherines. Free breakfast, free limited parking and free internet connection. Exterior needs some improvement and surrounding area not so impressive but Montreal overall is safe. I enjoyed this place for the little extra things it came with. Excellent staff and were very helpful. First time in Montreal. FYI please make sure your room is on the first or second floor. 3rd floor you would have to take an elevator to 2nd floor before taking the stairs. Great for friends traveling on a budget or backpacking. Overall me and my friend were pleased with the hotel.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 12 of 55Impeccable service, paper thin walls
The front desk staff at the Saint Andre were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Upon arrival were given excellent information about local sites and activities. A member of our group left her car keys upon departure - the staff were very kind and responsive in arranging to have the keys couriered to her home. Although the view was nothing to rave about, the room was adequately clean and water pressure was good. The downside was the noise, noise, noise! We fully understand that an economic hotel attracts a younger clientele to a city noted for its lively nightlife, however, we were not expecting to be staying in a frat-house! Beginning at 2 am, it was literally a parade of noisy youngsters returning from Montreal’s many bars and discos, but that was not the worst part … besides the paper-thin walls, our room had an adjoining door that enabled us to clearly listen to every word (and every tear) from a conversation between a young amorous couple that did not end until after 5 AM, despite multiple phone calls from the front desk to the room asking them to quiet down. In conclusion, if you aren’t looking for a post-party crash paid, don’t stay here over a weekend.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 13 of 55Needs improvement
Our particular room had no place to put a suitcase except on the floor and we couldn't unpack because there were no drawers in the room. Our friend's room had a chest of drawers and was a much nicer room. We were charged the same amount for the rooms although their's was a much bigger and better equipped room. I would suggest a call to the hotel to discuss individual rooms as they varied greatly.

Trip Type: Romance Review 14 of 55Dreadful!
Horrible area, if not with my boyfriend I would have been afraid to walk alone. Ruddy old air conditioner. When we checked in we were given a room that had not been cleaned or changed over from the previous guests. At first the reception did not believe us. Bathroom(s) were both teeny tiny and had no outlets. Shower was even smaller in the 2nd room. Knees touched the wall while on the toilet in the 1st room. Small cheap TV and probably only 3 english channels. Curtains got in the way of the air conditioner, so we had to shut them in the windows. Breakfast was not all its cracked up to be. There was a weird air freshner in the room that made a noise every time it sprayed. The room was worse than a college dorm room. It was right off of St. Catherine's St. but the walk to the decent nightlife and bars was easier to get to via the (expensive) metro. We thought it was ridiculously overpriced for the quality, cleanliness, and service that we actually endured.
