    After we found the hotel, after at least one hour of looking, both in the car and finally on foot, it had limited parking. It was in a nice city, we felt "secure" in the location and the rooms were clean. It was one of the "best" two star hotels we stayed in.

A traditional French hotel in the centre of Trouville, the Hotel Fer a Cheval is within 500 metres of the beach, aquarium, and casino. The 34 guestrooms are simply decorated with cheerful fabrics and painted wooden furniture, and include cable television, direct-dial phones, and wireless Internet service (surcharge). Bathrooms have handheld showers.

Buffet breakfast is served in the salon de thé, after which guests can browse complimentary newspapers in the hotel lobby. Cars may be parked in the casino car park 50 metres away, for which there is a charge in high season. Staff at the front desk can provide information on nearby sightseeing opportunities, as well as making restaurant reservations. The beach and twice-weekly fish market can be found 50 metres from the hotel, and golfers will find a course two kilometres away. Further afield, the pretty port town of Honfleur with its churches and museums is 15 kilometres away, and the city of Caen is 45 kilometres from the hotel. Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport is 200 kilometres away, around 150 minutes by car. Please note: The front desk is open from 8AM to 10PM daily.
