Trip Type: Special Event Review 1 of 416Needs work!
I booked three nights at the Hotel Cantlie because of the size of the rooms for the price. We had an executive suite which consist of a seperate bedroom and living room/kitchen. The reason for having a lot of room for the money is because the hotel is pretty run down but if you overlook that it's a pretty good deal. We had to leave a day early but the manager would not refund our money even though we tried to cancel a Saturday night resveration on a Friday morning. This is pretty sleazy and keep that in mind when booking. Oh, and the parking is not included and the breakfast is your typical motel food for a lot of money.

We will stay there again. Great location and convenient to shopping and local transportation. Hotel personnel were cheerful and very helpful.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 3 of 416Good Room for the money
The room was comfortable and clean..housekeeping was very good and it was in a great location. Our only complaint was the lighting in the room...difficult to read in, could use more lamps and the TV was small though adequate.

Trip Type: Business Review 5 of 416Older hotel
This is a decent, well located, older hotel. Staff was always pleasant, rooms were clean and bed was really comfortable. Just keep in mind that is an older style, one-off hotel and not a new hotel that is part of a large chain. With that in mind, I would recommend it if that is what you are looking for.

Trip Type: Family Review 7 of 416Very convenient to McGill, acceptably clean and good location.
The hotel was in a great location for us, close to downtown shopping and restaurants. We will definitely return.

excellent location for shopping and dinning. you can park the car and walk to everything, even old Montreal / water front. or take the Metro, which is very clean and safe.

Trip Type: Business Review 9 of 416Brilliant hotel!
It is clean, friendly, and efficient. When I asked for some restaurants nearby for either seafood or pasta, a fantastic place was recommended, The hotel even gave me a note that as a customer of the hotel, I could get 20% discount! On the 2nd day of the stay, it was raining, at the front desk, I was asked whether I need an umbrella (without me asking for one!). They had many umbrellas for customers. I loved this hotel. The only thing that I personally did not need was some sort of scent (a spray?) when I checked into my room. I do need any strong smell or any chemicals. Otherwise, this would have been perfect! Thanks for all the hospitality.

Trip Type: Business Review 10 of 416Comfortable and Convenient
Greatl location, helpful staff. We arrived, walked into our room and decided to upgrade to the executive suite from the double-queen. The staff were patient, helpful, cordial, and efficient. In less than five minutes we were on our way to the new room. While the additional cost of adding another guest to our room on top of the upgrade was a bit unnecessary in my mind, the space and comforts are still excellent. I heartily recommend, especially if you are staying for 3 or more nights since the kitchenette (stove, sink, microwave, fridge, dishes, coffemaker, etc.) and the small dining area are perfect for longer stays - get some groceries and chill.

this is an excellent choice for people staying more than 1 night, location is great and size of rooms and the small kitchens is a great plus. Can't beat the location! Would stay here again and recommend to others.

Trip Type: Romance Review 13 of 416A great stay
Hotel le Cantlie is quite nice. The hotel is at the foot of Mount Royal. It is just a block and a half or so away from a stop on the green line of the metro, which is four stops or so away from the main metro hub, Berri-UQAM. If you'll be staying in town for more than a few days, go to any metro stop and buy a week-long pass, which will get you on any metro or city bus. The hotel is rather nicely appointed. We loved having a kitchenette, which included a stove, oven, sink, microwave, and fridge. The maids even wash your dishes when they clean your room! There is a pool way up on the roof: the 28th floor, with a nice view of downtown. They have a free business center with three computers (which don't always work as one might hope, but that's a minor quibble). Also, they have a laundry room: two washers, two dryers, and a soap dispenser. You must pay for these DIY laundry services, but we much preferred to do our laundry in the evening at our own hotel rather than losing time during the day at a laundromat. Great experience overall!
