Better than expected

We forgot a corkscrew and a toothbrush and both were available at the front desk. Bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. Great view. If continental breakfast isn't your thing, the CharBurger had a great cafeteria style breakfast that was inexpensive with lots of options. 20 minute drive to Hood River, which is where we had to attend a wedding, and which had no vacancy. Room had a couch and a desk and plenty on tv. It was also the first hotel I've stayed in with a recycling bin in the room, which was awesome. We were really pleased! There was nothing unsatisfactory.

noise

Train noise was terrible. Main line trains ran hourly throughout the night. In addition they stopped directly behind the hotel. Asked for a no smoking room, got a smoking room which smelled like a cigar convention was there the day before. Everything in the room smelled of smoke! No other room was available. We should have cancelled and left.

Needs Improvement

A basic hotel for a short stay only. If you need an extra bed in your room, you can barely walk around. If you attend a congress in Palais de Congress, which is the largest convention center in Lyon, you should know that the Convention Center near the hotel is not Palais de Congress It takes about 20 minutes to get there by foot and about 30 minutes if you use public transportation which is not a direct one. The hotel restaurant was a real disappointment.
