Trip Type: Not Provided Review 16 of 234Great place but BUSY
This is a nicely renovated older hotel in the center of Montreal. Very trendy area. The problem some may have is that the pool and bar on the roof, while both pretty, are open tot he public. This meant they were packed with 20-30 year olds every day from 1130 when they open until 1am. This tied up the elevators. You have immediate access from the lobby (youcut into the line as a guest of hotel) but if you need to leave your floor there is often quite a wait for an elevator. Also, not having any ice machine was a problem.

I loved the convenience and the overall experience of the hotel and surrounding area. It was close to many restaurants and attractions. Would recommend 5 Stars***** Rocco

Trip Type: Special Event Review 19 of 234Funky little hotel
We stayed here with the intention of enjoying downtown Montreal and it fit the bill. We were close to St. Catherine's street and Cresent street - probably two of the most important streets in downtown if you're into nightlife. The roof pool/bar is awesome for happy hour, great people watching. The rooms are neat, quiet and comfortable.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 20 of 234Nice Room but Noisy Atmosphere
Our room was attractive and well-appointed. Our stay would have been great if the nighttime noise level had been acceptable. We were there on Friday and Saturday evenings. The noise of enthusiastic twenty-somethings going to and from the rooftop lounge was noticeable until about 2 AM. The sound from the hallway and the elevator passed easily through our room's door and was really distracting. The pool/lounge on the top floor is open to the general public except for a few hours in the morning when it's reserved for hotel guests. It's not a quiet spot for a cocktail and an evening swim. A four start rating seems rather generous given that unavoidable distraction.

Loved staying here. Well situated with short walks to the Metro, rue Ste. Catherine, and rue Crescent nightspots. Rooms are fresh, stylish, and comforable. Would definitely stay here again.

Trip Type: Family Review 25 of 234Very Noisy Hotel
There is small Bar in the Hotel Lobby. Every night, lots of people having dancing and drinking. Also on the top floor, there is another open bar. Every night there is party for young people. In the night whole hotel look like for party and very noisy. I don't think those people are hotel guests, but from the town. Don't expect any quiet vacation over there.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this classic,a real European style Hotel. The room was huge, the bathrooms gorgeous. Convenient. Service was excellent and very friendly. Bell captain was very efficient. Parking was easy and very affordable. The roof top bar and pool is breath taking.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 28 of 234I've been here many times ...
Originally I discovered this hotel retty much by accident. The first time I went to the Montreal Jazz Fest back in 2000, one of my friends booked the rooms for us after he found it doing an internet search. We knew nothing about the hotel or even the city of Montreal for that matter. Turns out that the hotel is located just one short block from the intersection that is the heart of the city's entertainment district along Crescent Street (or Rue de Crescent to the locals ... it's important to remember all signage is in French as required by city ordinance). Along with numerous restaurants, bars, and clubs, Crest is the site of Montreals 'Hard Rock Cafe'. And one half block south is the main commercial thoroughfare Boulevard St. Catherine. There's a popular department store called Ogilvy's located right on the corner. So you can do alot right in walking distance. The rest of downtown is about 1 mile down St Catherine or if you go 2 blocks north Sherbrooke is another main street that is the home of McGill University located at the foot of Mont Royal. Which brings me to another great aspect about the location. "Montagne" is the French word for mountain & you'll see why the hotel is named as such when you look up the street ... you'll be looking right at the side of the mountain ... it's just a wall of green about 1/2 mile or so to the north. But a better view of the mountain is found right at the hotel itself. Take the elevator to the top floor and you'll find one of the best panoramas of downtown Montreal and the surrounding areas. In the evening the sun sets directly behind the mountain. The rooftop club is called Terrasse Magnetique wich has a dining area and bar at the top floor. Walk one flight up to the pool which has a sundeck and a smaller bar with with coktail tables & stools at the bar. It's one of the most popular places in the city in the summer months for Montrealers. When the weather is good the line for the elevators to get to the roof start early

Trip Type: Special Event Review 29 of 234"a little more please
The hotel itself was nice as was the staff, but the beds were very hard, my water was shut off for 4 hours, and the carpet was wet in front of the bathroom.

Trip Type: Family Review 30 of 234Perfect Location
This hotel was perfectly situated for our visit to downtown Montreal and the Jazz Festival. Easy access to the subway. The room was clean, large and comfortable. For those who want to party, there was lots of nightlife, including a disco off the lobby, but our room on the 8th floor was very quiet.
