Trip Type: With Friends Review 1 of 119Nice hotel with great new Orleans feel
This Hotel was beautiful, absolutely loved the design and it was a covient 3 blocks from burbon st. The only things I would complain about was the woman at the front desk didn't seem to know too much about anything. She couldn't answer questions we had for her, and when we called and asked for directions she was horrible! Also the water in the shower never got hot. Our room was right next to a busy parking garage that was loud in the morning. Otherwise I was very impressed by the design of the hotel and would recomend it to people wanting to enjoy their stay in downtown new orleans

Trip Type: Special Event Review 2 of 119Unpleasant Stay
I spent 1 night at The Hotel Chateau Dupre for a concert at the House of Blues just recently. I chose this Hotel because I had stayed there before and I was very pleased. But this go round was very disappointing. The bathroom smelled of urine. There were strands of hair on the comforters on the bed. One of the bed frames were broken. I was not satisfied at all with my stay which is the reason I only stayed one night.

Trip Type: Family Review 3 of 119Never again!
The over all experience with this hotel was horrible, except for the friendly and courteous front desk agents, the hotel was a disaster. In first place we had a king/queen bed confirmed thru the hotel website we booked it, but when we got there were given a full size bed in a rooom with no windows and a tv set that didn't work! We didn't check in late nor the hotel was soldout so I don't know why they gave us the worst available room. I called the front desk to complaint and immediately the front desk agent Denise, a very nice lady by the way, changed us to a larger room on the second floor, with 2 double beds intead of one. It was not what we wanted but at least we had a bed per person, better than one full size bed for 2 adults. The room had another tv set that didn't work, there was no chair or place to put your luggage except on the floor, and no extra mirror except the small mirror in the bathroom. The elevator was literally inside our bedroom, we could hear the elevator going up and down every time it was used. Can you imagine 3 of the 4 wall covering the elevator were inside our bedroom. So ask yourself how loud we heard the elevator? Like if you were sleeping inside of one! The front door had the room number written with a pencil! not a plaque, not a plastic label.. with a pencil! Talking about cheap, That was the lowest thing I have ever seen at a hotel. The bathroom vanity was made of the cheapest materials they've found, and so small I had to keep picking my toiletries one by one, use it and put it back on my luggage, it was so small only my toohpaste and my doedorant would fit on the edge of the counter. That's all we could put there. I know is an old place, I know is New Orleans, but we have been many times to this wonderful city, and stayed at diff locations, but staying at this place was the worst experience we have ever encountered in our lives. The second day they cleaned the room , the toilet paper was half used already, but the person who cleaned

Trip Type: Family Review 4 of 119Good location, needs improvement.
Pros:Great location, friendly stuff. Cons:I know it is in old part of town, but this hotel needs renovation,it is pretty worn out inside.Almost not noticable from outside. Ok for one night.Shower wasn't working,no remote for the TV,note on the wall "Please do not change the air conditioner temperature setting"(it was 70F)".Elevator is veeery slow.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 5 of 119Good location, everything else fairly average
A friend and I spent three nights at this hotel. We loved the location, as we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. I liked that our room did not look like your typical hotel room, but beyond that there wasn't much to write home about. The room and the rest of the hotel was clean enough, but everything looked very worn. The carpets in the hall were very faded and the bathroom had definitely seen better days. There were some mold issues and some cracks and things. I did like the size of the bathroom, it was fairly large. I wasn't too pleased about the valet parking, and the fee for internet/phone that was charged even if we didn't use either. Overall I did enjoy my stay and thought the price was reasonable.

Trip Type: Romance Review 9 of 119Needs Improvement
The hotel was very clean and had a nice atmosphere. However they only had one desk clerk working at all times which made for VERY slow service, even if you were second in line. Getting directions to the hotel was very difficult and there is only a VERY small sign by the door which would be noticed from the street. We drove by the hotel twice, and eventually we had to walk down the sidewalk to find it. The airconditioning in the lobby was broken so it was hot. And there wasn't any room to park while we checked in because, the loading area was contained only enough room for 1 one at a time. Only two outlets in our room worked, and only two lamps and the bathroom light worked. Also the ceiling fan did not work. And the only person there who was eventually helpful and when above and beyond the head housekeeping woman who helped us with directions around the city, checked out our luggage, got our car brought around, and helped to load our luggage on the trolley. She was wonderful, we loved her! If anything would come back because of her.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 10 of 119Ewww
If you are looking for a hotel to crash at for a late night Bourbon session... this one is perfect. It was priced reasonably, however, watch out for hidden fees such as safe and internet charges. Floors and bathrooms were disgusting and walls were paper thin. Beds were comfortable. Would not recommend staying here for an extended period of time --one night was more than enough!

Great location & hotel. Staff did have fire extinguisher problem at 4:30am and did not seem to know how to resolve.

Was very pleased with stay except for fire extinguisher incident that cleared the hotel at 4:30am. Hotel staff seemed clueless on how to resolve this matter.
