Trip Type: Family Review 1 of 697Stay here so you have more money for other things!
We all know that New York is full of fun, sometimes expensive things to do! If you would rather stay in a less costly, adorable, quiet hotel, loaded with helpful staff members, rather than the heart of Times Square ($$$) this is a terrific choice. New York is a large city, so the views are never good from any hotel! Spend the money you've saved on Top of the Rock tickets for views! This little gem is within walking distance from several locations, including Grand Central Station. Are the rooms small? Yes. But you should be outside exploring that terrific city!

Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 2 of 697Nice and Neat!
Due to a misunderstanding with the Valet, our car was towed! However, the hotel staff and GM did their best to make up for it by paying for our cab fare as well as the towing charge and ticket. It was their mistake afterall, but they could have been uncooperative. Instead, they were very kind and accomodating, before and after that incident.

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 697Great little gem
Rooms are small but the price in the middle of Manhattan more than makes up for that. The bed was comfortable. Staff was personable and helpful. The hotel bar is a great, local's place with very nice bartenders.

Trip Type: Business Review 6 of 697nice hotel and very convenient
Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff; room was a little small but well appointed; easy walk to Penn Station and other mid-town locations.

Trip Type: Romance Review 7 of 697Nice Hotel
The hotel overall was nice. Our room was tiny which we had expected based on reviews - we had to use the desk as a spot to open a suitcase. The shower had a rain type shower head but the bad thing was it was in the center of the shower and the door was on the opposite end of the shower from the turn on knob so you had to either get wet turning the water on or get in the shower and be hit with cold water until it heated up. There was a small hotel bar but it was frequented by locals who were loud and drunk.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 8 of 697Great NY hotel for the rate
Great boutique hotel within walking distance of Macy's and Penn station. Room was not large, but suited our needs. The shower was great. Nightly turn down service with chocolate was nice touch. Hotel staff was VERY helpful in all matters-holding our bags, directions, opening doors, getting taxis. Coffee, tea, NY times free in lobby in morning. Continental buffet breakfast was a bit pricey for what you get. Better off walking to a nearby deli or coffee shop unless you are pushed for time. Would stay here again and recommend to friends.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 9 of 697Somewhat small
This is the second time I stayed in the Hotel Chandler; however, this time the room was extremely small (even for a former New Yorker). That said, I would stay again. Hotel is very clean, up to date, and comfortable. You cannot beat the location, literally around the corner from the Empire State building, easy access to mass transit.

Hotel service was excellent. Everyone was extrememly helpful and friendly. The rooms are small, but clean and the bathroom was nice. I would definitely stay there again.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 11 of 697Great value and location
This hotel offers accessibility to the train station as well as the highlights of NYC such as Broadway and 5th Avenue. The bathroom was good sized but as is often the case in NYC, the room itself was small and storage was challenged as we needed to use our bags rather than a dresser to access clothing and accessories. We would seek an alternative, willing to pay a little more to get more but based on our search this offered the best value.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 12 of 697Cozy, Friendly Boutique
Staff generally went out of their way to help. Very clean, small room with good light. Bathroom tiny but with a nice rain shower stall. Good linens - bed rather firm.

Trip Type: Romance Review 13 of 697Great hotel
Wonderful room and service. Although a local, I spent the evening here after engaged. One critique, the walls to the hallway are thin and you can hear the elevator and every conversation (and vice versa presumably). Otherwise outstanding.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 14 of 697Outstanding Hotel
This hotel exceeded our expectations. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is in a great location. Our room was quiet because it was not facing the street. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay here again.
