Hotel Blue

VERY COZY FAMILY ORIENTED HOTEL

THE ROOMS ARE VERY NICE AND COMFORTABLE .THE KIDS LOVED THE POOLS AND WHEN THEY GOT BORED THEY COULD GO TO THE BEACH OR VISEVERSA.WOULD STAY THERE AGAIN.HAVING KIDS SOMETIMES THEY GET BORED BUT NOT A CHANCE HERE.

Under Construction!

We were unaware of any hotel construction when we arrived. Coming from Michigan and traveling as a mom with three boys, I had called to inform hotel that we were going to be checking in after mid-night. I was told that the security guard would meet me with the hotel keys. He was nowhere to be found. We had to check into a hotel down the street until the next day. Tropical Winds did apologize and refunded one night's stay, but the inconvenience outweighed the reimbursement. One good thing is that we were able to use the sister hotel down the street for pools, etc., as the pools at Tropical Winds had been dug-out due to the construction. Please reconsider staying here. Under Construction???

I think the hotel would of been OK if it were not undergoing renovations. The outside pool was dry and being redone, the hallways had no wallpaper and contruction equipment everywhere. Over half of the parking was blocked for painting of the outside. It was an old hotel and it looked it. The room was clean and the layout with the third bed was great. We were not to big on the tile floor throughout the whole room. All in all, it was OK to sleep and shower in. No resturant.

In Need of Major Improvement

The hotel elevators were out of order and when they did work they were slow. the halls were a mess because of the renovations. I feel we should have been told about the renovations prior to the visit.

Needs Improvement

Only one person handling check-in at peak period. Elevators were slooooowww. Mostly families with kids. Not for the upscale at all. Not convenient to eateries unless you drive, which is bumper to bumper.

In need of maintennce

The fact that "Ocean View" means to them that you can see the ocean if you lean way over the railing on the balcony on the side of the building is not altogether surprising. The fact that the sliding door to the balcony did not close would not have bothered me so much were it not for the fact that the hotel on the beach next door had karaoke from 7-9 am followed by a luau till whenever punctuated by shouts of "Get up and HULA!". If there is anything worse than Karaoke when you can't actually see and give the contestants the Anmerican Idol treatment - it is Hawaiin music.

great room for the money

the rooms we nice, location to eveything was pretty good.the only major prblem i found was the elevators

Good room for the money. Needs some updating.

If this hotel were modernized and got a new look it would raise a star.

Needs Improvement

The hotel seemed to be some what out of date. During our stay the fire alarms went off twice within 12 hours and nobody come by the rooms to make sure everyone was out of the room or if everyone was okay. The bathroom was small and the air conditionor did not cool the room, only about 2 feet in front of it could you feel the cool air. It was close to the beach, and although we did not have a ocean front room, we could still the beach from the room we were in.
