Good Option for the Budget Constrained

The Hotel Bijou is an oasis for the budget traveler where they've taken the time to add some extra charm that makes the place stand out. The area immediately surrounding the hotel is a mixture of characters and union square tourists, so the hustle and bustle of it all might not be for everyone, but I found the stay exactly what I expected for my budget and needs. I'd stay here again.

nice hotel/ street bums are animals

street people were yelling and honking horns way past 3:00 AM. sleep was impossible.maybe week days were quieter? real shame this is a very nice hotel,nice staff.

Did the Job

We came into town for a quick weekend (Halloween)with kids. Having no expectations other than a bed and shower, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality, convenience and ease of this hotel. Room was clean, available as promised and quiet, given that it was Halloween and there is a bar next door. The breakfast was more than satisfactory and the parking was workable. Really, for the price, we got way more than could be expected

Bijou mean escape in Russian

If you are a pimp or street worker, this is a great place for you. If you like sirens at 3 am, this is a great place. No AC, small beds and rooms, little pressure in the shower.

Noisy but convenient

If you are a light sleeper do not stay here. I am a very heavy sleeper and was woken up several times by the street noise and we were on the top floor. I was shocked by how noisy it was. Best features are how close it is to the Powell station and it's not on a hill. As for the rest of it, it's fine. Nothing special. They claim to have movie themes for all the rooms but that is just the movie title on the door and one pic from the movie in the room. I put "don't recommend" because of the noise. Otherwise it's good for the price.

Good value, but room for improvement...

Love the coziness of the hotel, very friendly staff, very conveniently located close to a lot of transport options, by only objections was the surroundings, and the fact that the room didnt have A/C. If you tried to open the window you could listened way to much of what happened in the street, mostly fights of homeless and other people passing by.

I stayed at "Basic instinct"

The hotel is very nice for the money I spent. A sports bar right next door created a high volume some nights, especially around closing time at 2am. The neighbouring area is a bit uncomfortable and feels unsafe when daylight is out.
