greet hotel for staing

Hotel location is exellent for people who have a short term for visiting New York. Price is matching with service . Room and restroom have been clean ( even it was shared with my neighbors ) . Bed was comfortable , linen clean with nice smell . I satisfaction for my staing at this hotel. Will recommend to all my friends.

Great Find

This hotel is a great find. I had a King Deluxe room when I visited for 4 nights on business. Although the room may seem small compared to your average hotel across America, this room was enormous by NY standards. Service was impeccable. It's a short walk to a local train or only 5 blocks to the express. The room was clean, the bed was comfotable, the water was hot. Speaking of hot, one of my two minor complaints.... the room was extraordinarily hot. It was November, and I ran the A/C to combat the heat. That said, I'd rather have a toasty hot room than a freezing one. The only other downfall is the lighting in the bathroom. There is a single light in the center of the room, which is not directly above the mirror. I used the full length mirror in the main part of the room rather than the bathroom mirror and it all worked out just fine. I will defintely keep this on my "great place to stay when in NY" list.

Rooms were small

Overall I was pleased with hotel. However, I was woken up several times in the early hours with doors that were being repeatedly slammed. My room was very small, but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. I did have to share the bathroom with three other rooms.

Wonderful!

Everyone at this hotel was extremely nice. I would absolutely stay there again and would highly recommend it. Plus, for NYC, it is a bargain.

What renovations?

Hotel claims it went through major renovation. Aside from flat-panel tv in room, rest of room and hotel did not appear to be renovated at all. Still, hotel was good value and location.

Good experience

We stayed for one night at Hotel Belleclaire. It is an older apartment building that has been converted to a hotel, although some of the rooms remain apartments with long term residents. We stayed in a two twin bed room with a shared bath and found the room to be clean and roomy with comfortable beds. We had two big windows and heard quite a bit of night street noise (garbage trucks, etc.) but that's part of being in a big city so we didn't mind. The neighborhood is good.. very close to Columbus Street where there are lots of restaurants and also easy walking distance to Central Park, subway stations, and American Museum of Natural History.

Great location, clean, but noisy vents/air

I would stay at this hotel again. It was clean, the staff were nice, and the room was large (king with private bath). The only problem was the constant noise from the air ducts. Kept me up most of the night. Not sure what that's about.

Great value, great location

Hotel very clean and staff really helpful. Small rooms and view from my room was the wall of the building next door, but otherwise a great deal for the neighborhood. Really tiny elevator; lots of stair access. Close to museum, several diners, market, subway. All in all, a nice and convenient area.

Great NYC Bargain

Great location just a few blocks from central park. Entrance is not well marked and I walked by it a few times before noticing it. Rooms were nice and clean. Shared bathroom is no inconvience and I never saw the guests of the other two rooms sharing it. No parking on site but there is a garage just a block away on W77th that is reasonable (for NYC). Overall great stay. One small issue was that there seemed to be an apartment next to our room that was permeating cigarette smoke into the hallway, but I was unable to smell it in the room. I would recommend this hotel.

Overall good for the price

Rooms were clean and well decorated. They were also a bit small, but too small. The main negative was having to share a bathroom and the heater we could not get to turn off all the way. However, for the price, I would probably stay here again.
