    Hotel staff was very nice. Hotel is in residenditial part of the town, not far from the center and very close to metro and Tram.

    The Hotel Amrey Diagonal was a bit far out from the historic center and the closest metro was quite a hike, but the neighborhood was very nice and on our last day there we took a walk down a nice neighborhood street behind the hotel that runs out to the beach. It was lovely and gave a real sense of BCN that you can't get from walking the Ramblas. The Metro would have been closer, but due to construction the 6 block walk became an 8 block walk. Those two blocks and then up and down the stairs at the Metro got to be quite old. The value for the money though was excellent. This really was one of the nicest hotels we've stayed in anywhere in Europe. They don't tell you, but if you don't have a lapttop with you to use the hotel wi-fi they will give you a password to use the computer downstairs near the business meeting rooms.

The Amrey Diagonal is a modern hotel with glass façade situated less than 100 metres from Glories Commercial Centre on one of Barcelona's main thoroughfares, Diagonal Avenue. This 11 storey hotel features 154 guestrooms, all of which have contemporary decor with maroon fabrics and wooden floors. All rooms have air conditioning, cable television, designer toiletries and Internet connections.

Overlooking the street, the hotel restaurant, Andy Café, offers Mediterranean and Catalan cuisine served a la carte and as set menus. Two meeting rooms cater for banquets and conferences with the latest audio-visual equipment and facilities. Guests can rent a computer and go online to check email. Complimentary newspapers are found in the tranquil modern setting of the lobby. Parking is available for a surcharge. Health conscious guests can make use of nearby fitness centre for a surcharge, and for more leisurely pursuits, there is a cinema, shops and restaurants at Glories Commercial Centre, and the beach is 800 metres away. Barcelona Airport (BCN) is 30 minutes by car, 20 kilometres (13 miles) from the hotel.
