Very nice hotel

Hotel Amarante was a very comfortable and pleasent experience. The hotel was very clean and well attended and the staff was extremely helpful at all times. I highly recommend this property. It is a pleasent walk into the town and near public transportation.

Ehhh

This was an ok hotel in an ok location. The staff was semi helpful and it was about a 15 minute walk to anything cool. There were several hotels closer to the main strip and this hotel seemed kind of no thrills. The room was completely simple and the bed was the worst we had in europe. I would look elsewhere but this was acceptable

Location, location, location!

It seems that all the action in Cannes is on the beach front, but I gotta admit, Hotel Amarante is quite nicely located near the "buzz and action" of the city. We walked every day (in each direction) to the shopping district, the restaurants, the pubs, you name it, we were there and on foot with no problems! It's a well kept hotel with friendly staff. Our biggest fear was to not be able to communicate with a non English speaking employee. Even with our little French language skills, everyone, even housekeeping, knew enough English to help! Only advice, make sure to find out when the hotel's (and local's) restaurant is closed, because then your stuck eating pizza or a sandwich.

Needs improvement

For a 4-star hotel, there was no free internet access. The room was not very clean with moldy shower/tub and dirty carpeting. The room was rather small. The air condition did not work that great..If this was a 4-star then I can't imagine what a 3-star or a 2-star hotel would be like in Cannes.
