Trip Type: With Friends Review 1 of 8Great place to stay
The hotel was exactly what we were looking for. The staff was great and let us store our large luggage for the weekend when we checked out and went to Paris.

Trip Type: Business Review 2 of 8Amazing Staff
The rooms are done really well, in wood panels and my room was on the top floor with a huge verandah. the bathrooms too are spacious. very clean rooms, no carpets, so no residual dust. location is extremely convenient, 10 minutes walk to la rambla. but the best part is the staff. very very courteous and helpful. i had left my laptop in the room, they put it in the safe for me. very impressed. overall amazing place, would definitely go back and recommend to anyone travelling there.

Really clean rooms, standup shower only. very close to subway line, int he middle of the city. The place was inexpensive too. We stayed 3 nights. Recommended!

Trip Type: Romance Review 4 of 8Helpful Staff, Fab Bathroom, And More...
We had a great experience at this hotel. It was a little bit of a walk from La Rambla, but definitely doable, and after seeing the crowds/noise on La Rambla, it was probably a good idea to not be so close. We had a room that faced the back and it was very quiet. The staff at the front desk was great, they were very friendly and helpful. One negative comment here; they offer to sell you a one or two day pass to the "hop-on, hop-off" double decker bus tour when you check in. We snatched that up, only to discover that there are two different companies offering the double decker bus tour, and the one we purchased from the hotel is for a three hour round trip tour. This doesn't sound bad until you figure that if you just want to ride the bus over to the Sagrada Familia, you then have a 3 hour round trip before you can get back to the hotel. After riding around on that bus for six hours the first day, we never went back even though we had purchased a two day pass. I think the other bus is a better option with shorter round trips and multiple routes. We thought the bathroom was fantastic. Awesome shower, really nice modern design. Plenty of hot water. Another note, the little sidewalk cafe on the corner has great cafe con leche, and you can get a quick breakfast there (European style; croissant or ham sandwich) for less than half of what the hotel charges for their breakfast buffet.

Trip Type: Romance Review 6 of 8Somewhat dissatisfied
Although the decor is modern, and the wooden floors appear to be clean, there were several unanticipated occurrences that wouldn't bring me back, nor refer anyone to this place. First, the shower didn't have a curtain but a half glass door, so we were more concerned with getting the granite floors wet, than enjoying a good shower. Second, our balcony was facing other hotels and apartments with a huge array of cats and dogs, and on the nights we left the door open, we could hear them... all night. Third, we though they changed our sheets, but little did we know, we tested the house keeping by leaving a little mark on the corner of our sheet, and discovered they simply just made the bed, only after we took all the sheets off and left them on the floor did they change them. (We had been there 6 days. Fourth, when we slept in, they knocked on the door to clean, we told them to come back, well not only did they not come back they didn't provide us with fresh towels, or replenish the soap/shampoo, etc. Fifth, we asked concierge to assist us with booking tours etc. When we returned the next shift came on board, no communication between shifts, therefore our reservations were not made, nor did the following shift know what was discussed in the prior shift. Sixth, we had ordered breakfast room service at a specific time. Not only did we not get breakfast and had to remind them, they brought us only one of our orders, but charged us for two. Seventh, it got cold over the next couple of days, and it was freezing in the room, we asked concierge to turn the heat on, but they explained they were on central heating, the week prior to our arrival it was warm so they asked maintenance to turn the heat off and switch to air conditioning, and therefore couldn't turn the heat on, but gave us an extra blanket (a twin size one). Seventh, our drinking glasses in the hotel were chipped and they didn't replace them the whole week we were there. Eighth, although I requested a queen large bed

The rooms have no rugs, so they felt a little bare. Very nice bathroom, comfortable bed, etc. The location is farther away from Placa de Catalunya than their web description says, so I think that is misleading--it is not 300 meters away, but about a good ten -minute walk. I might not have chosen it had I known this. Perfectly good for people on a budget or business people. The breakfast was nice; desk staff helpful when asked a few times but not very knowledgeable. I.e., when we mentioned a restaurant near the water, they moight have suggested the Picasso Museum which was in the area (is that asking too much?)

Great choice from several that we considered... Nice ambiance for those that appreciate a modern motif. The staff was courteous and helpful... I highly recommend this hotel.
