Trip Type: Not Provided Review 1 of 270A good place..
Tucked away justy off of 7th Avenue, a person might walk by without noticing it. The front desk and all staff could not have ben nicer. There was a Continental breakfast available in the "Bar 41" just off the lobby. A bar that is very popular for its happy hour. It was packed every evening. The room, we were warned, was small. But I've seen smaller. It was just big enough and the bathroom was updated and clean. We were near the back of the building and it was very quiet (except for the neighbors on one evenning). You wouldn't know you were only a few dozen feet from Times Square. The down sides: The mattress was stiff and sagged at the center severely. The water pressure was OK. The shower had been redone as one of those walk-in, glass wall things which was good looking. But the shower head was placed at least 9 feet overhead which makes for an "all-or-nothing" shower experience, if you know what I mean. Direct TV was listed as an amentity but ours had only a few stations, mostly local.( A funny note: the first thing on the list of "Room Amenities" was "Rooms". I had to chuckle.) Overall, I would stay again. Good value for money, a very nice staff, and nice room, and terrific location in middle of Manhattan with the the subway and Port Authority transit station only steps away.

Trip Type: Family Review 2 of 270Excellent Location for NY visit
We enjoyed our stay at Hotel 41 very much. The hotel is very clean, service excellent, and location superb. The rooms are small, but certainly adequate. The location is the best. You could easily walk to most of Manhatten from this location or the Metro is just across the street.

Trip Type: Business Review 4 of 270Small But Centrally Located
Where else can you get a great rate and be smack dab in the theatre district and Times Square. Right across the street were most of the subway lines, 1,2,3,S,N,Q,R,W,A,C,E with the F&V 2 blocks away. Not counting the tourist "trap" restaurants, many of the nearby restaurants are where the locals eat and save money, because they work in the neighborhood. I agree with many of the reviews that my room was the size of a shoebox and gave a view of a brick wall if I opened the shade; however, all I needed was a place to sleep and keep my stuff. I was not going to be staying in my room, which btw has cable. The staff was friendly and helpful. I was unable to retrieve my luggage from storage the day I checked out, but the staff was nice enough to hold it for me and I picked it up the next evening. Nice little boutique hotel.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 5 of 270Great location, funky modern, good value
pack light, and hold your breath before entering your room. The "window" is not even suitable as an eggress and you need to go over the bed to get to the bathroom. Great value and location and quiet though, if all you want is a place to sleep.

Trip Type: Business Review 6 of 270Very Good Value Considering NY Hotel Prices
I was completely satisfied with my choice. It was a small boutique hotel in the midst of the Theater District, reminiscent of a European hotel. It had a funky little bar/restaurant off the lobby. The room was tiny, but totally adequate considering the price. It rated 4.2 on 5-point Hotels.com scale and the rating was consistent with my experience.

Trip Type: Business Review 7 of 270Great Deal
This was a perfect hotel for the price and location. But even better, the staff was friendly, room was clean and quiet, free internet access (wireless) and free breakfast. It is right in the heart of the action and the subway is across the street. Sure it is a small room and the water takes a while to get hot but these are minor details compared to all the good stuff.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 8 of 270good location and very clean
We paid for the smallest room, which was expensive in my opinion but the best deal we could find in NYC with such a good location. They gave us a free upgrade to another room which was nice and we did not even ask for an upgrade. There was no view but who needs a view. The room was very clean, staff was nice and helpful. Some bagles & juice downstairs are included for breakfast.

Trip Type: Family Review 9 of 270Small, but comfortable
Rooms are tiny, but clean and comfortable. Staff was always courteous and helpful. Location was perfect. The hotel is 50 feet from times square, subway is literally across the street, its a short walk (two blocks) to Broadway. Breakfast was just bagels and pastries, but it wasn't bad. And it beat having to pay $10 per bagel at any other place in time square. The free DVD rental was a nice touch. Overall, we thought it was a great value and would stay there again.

Trip Type: Business Review 11 of 270Great room for the money
Although the room was small, it was more than adequate. Very clean and the staff was very friendly. My only complaint was that it took a long time to get the hot water running in the shower, and even then it was only warm. Other than that, I would highly recommend Hotel 41.

Trip Type: Business Review 12 of 270Problem Room
I had the misfortune of getting the last room. There were an intense moldy smell and I found that the carpet next to the bed was soaking wet. No change in room available so I suffered through for a night. Might have been a freak situation, but it was very, very bad.

Trip Type: Romance Review 13 of 270Great Hotel
Very happy with our stay at Hotel41. The staff was great (gave us an upgrade on the room and were extremely hospitable,)they provided us with a complimentary bottle of water and a coupon for a glass of wine- as well as providing a small breakfast in the morning. Although the rooms are very small (it is NY after all) the bed was very comfortable and the room was clean and reasonable. Top it off by having a great location and this is a wonderful hotel for the theatre district in NY.

Trip Type: Business Review 15 of 270small but excellent room
if you're picky about size of hotels rooms in manhattan (good luck with that, btw) this isn't the hotel for you. otherwise, absolutely everything about hotel 41 is neat, tidy, organized. everything you'd expect is provided. air conditioning worked great (very important in august!) and was already on and set at 69 degrees as i entered the room. bed was firm but quite comfortable. extra pillows, nice. complementary breakfast was basic but adequate. self-serve cappuccino machine you could use past breakfasttime was a nice bonus. seriously, you'd be hard pressed to find hotel 41's equivalent at the hotels.com rate anywhere in the neighborhood.
