Trip Type: With Friends Review 2 of 257Amazing Location and Pool/Bar
Stayed here over a Friday night Halloween weekend. Traffic was kind of a mess around the hotel but once I yelled out of my window to the entrace they let me right in and treated like a king. Front desk was very friendly at check in and check out. We reserved a cabana room with a balcony overlooking the pool which is also where the bar is. HIGHLY recommend doing this as you can hang out in your room and balcony and watch all the action. Wish I would have known this as we already had plans. Hotel is right in the middle of everything going on in Hollywood so you can walk or take a quick cab to the best nightlife and restaurants. Wouldn't recommend this for kids but for singles, couples, etc...one of the best in Hollywood or LA!

Beautiful old Hollywood Hotel. Located in a great area. The pool is amazing and very relaxing. Yummy cocktails. The staff super friendly and I would stay there again. (and I don't even like Hollywood)

This hotel has seen better days. The remodel has aged poorly. Staff ranges from great to fair. The whole place feels in shoddy shape.

Trip Type: Business Review 9 of 257Lobby takeover
This hotel was great both times I stayed there before. Now it has new management and it has really gone down. The desk staff are the least professionally trained that I have seen in thirty years of international travel. They were also quite ignorant and inefficient. The halls are dark and dingy and the room lighting was awful. The bathroom had not ledge around the sink to put toiletries. The decor was ugly and uncomfortable. The worst insult was when I came down to go to dinner and was told I could not go through the front entrance because they had the lobby closed off for a private screening party. I was told I had to go out the back entrance in the parking lot, which meant I had to walk a half block around the hotel to get to Hollywood Blvd, the front of the hotel, which is where I was meeting my friends. I could not enter the building through the front entrance upon return and had to walk a half block down the side street and go through the parking lot even though I was on foot. It surely was a fire hazard and I should have called the Fire Dept. This was exasperating and frustrating and talking to the security guards about it was even more insulting. This is no way to do business and I will never go back. The restaurant Dakota's was excellent as was their staff. They were very professional. The staff at the Roosevelt is poorly trained and made several errors on the bill which took forever to correct. It took 45 minutes to get our cars out of the valet. Very poor management and they have destroyed what was a charming hotel.

Trip Type: Business Review 10 of 257Hipster hotel
I stayed at the Hollywood Roosevelt only because I was attending a conference that was being held there. The hotel is very noisy. When I checked in, there was a very loud party in the pool area, and the music traveled up to my room on the 7th floor. The room was fairly spacious, but the bed was too soft and somewhat uncomfortable. I had several issues which required either engineering or housekeeping. For one, the television reception had a lot of interference, which they couldn't fix. Then I had problems with the internet connection, and ended up logging on to their service twice, causing me to be charged twice. (This was fixed upon checkout.) I also had to request a rubber mat for the bathtub/shower, since it was very slippery and there is nothing whatsoever to hold onto. This took two trips by housekeeping, since they didn't understand what I was asking for. Lastly, the charges for the mini-bar and room service were ridiculous. This is the only hotel I have ever stayed at that charges for the in-room coffee packs that you make yourself ($3.50!)Overall, I give this hotel 2 and 1/2 stars out of 5. I will only stay there again if I have to.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 11 of 257Disappointed
While the location of the Roosevelt is good, and the price for the room was fair, the parking is $30 a day, and takes a while to get your car - the hotel's decor was trying to be modern, but came off as dark and depressing - during our stay, only one small elevator was working, so we often had to wait long periods of time to get to our room

Trip Type: Romance Review 12 of 257Party Hotel
If you want to party and deal with young intoxicated people this is the hotel for you. Had people passed out in the hall ways and front desk would not do anything about it. Not a Hotel I would recommend if you want a relaxing stay at a nice hotel. Room service food was not good. Was harrassed by intoxicated people in the lobby. It is a good location to party on Hollywood Blvd but not to relax.

Trip Type: Romance Review 13 of 257Not really worth the money
I stayed at the hotel from sunday to tuesday, and while it was very nice and in a good location, it was just too much money. During the week and on sundays are usually the cheapest days to book a room, but not at this place. I was willing to pay because I had heard it was very nice and hip,. and while the location is close to tall the action and the hotel seemed very nice, i was dissappointed with the rooms. For as much as I paid I expected much more space. The TV was tiny and in all honesty the room looked like it was trying too hard to be nicer thyan what it really was. The rest of the hotel looks great! but the rooms just arent worth the price. Also, they charge 30 DOLLARS!!!! a day for unlimited valet parking!! im already paying soo myuch for the rooms and now i have to pay an additional 30 $$$ a day just to park my car. Overall, the hotel is nice, the staff is polite, but the small rooms just arent worth the price and the parking fee is outrageous!!

Trip Type: Business Review 15 of 257Beware Loud Nightclub and Thin Walls
I read the reviews of this hotel before booking and no one mentioned that the hotel hosts a very hip, but very LOUD nightclub. The age of the hotel means that there is little sound proofing. I stayed on the 4th floor and could not sleep until the club closed... around 2:30 AM. The hotel's location is central to Hollywood Blvd. activities. The ambience of the hotel is very chic, with a "young Hollywood" vibe. The room was smallish, with a very comfortable bed, functional desk, and tiny bathroom. The staff was efficient and friendly. When I complained to the manager about the noise in the morning she was professional, sympathetic and resolved my issues immediately by contacting hotels.com on my behalf without any hassle. Bottom line- unless you are going to be AT the club until it closes, or are not bothered by excessive noise, think twice.
