Holiday Inn Express - Madison Square Garden

Decent size, great location

The room was clean and a comfortable size, the elevators didn't have a long wait and the staff was very nice. The check-in and check-out process was very quick. A cab driver told me the breakfasts there were good, but I never made it.

Small Rooms, yet Comfortable and Convenient Location

The rooms were small so it may not be convenient for someone in a wheelchair, but that is to be expected in a location such as Midtown NY. So if you expect bigger room, you pay bigger bucks. Having said that, my room was clean, bed sheets and pillow very comfortable and clean. The bathroom/toilet was also very clean. I would definitely stay here the next time I visit NY, as it is two blocks away from Penn Station and just a comfortable walking distance from TIME Sq, the Chealsea district with restaurants and gallery gallores etc, the Flat Iron building etc. The reception staff members were friendly and helpful too.

Great Service

clean hotel close to where I needed to be and was cheap. Front desk reps were very nice and doubled as bellhops chekcing my bags for the day after I checked out.

understaffed, poor service, questionable neighborhood

Slow service; questionable surrounding area; door didn't shut all the way; problems with phone and A/C; wake up call messed up since they didn't account for time change; overpriced.

Great Room and Location

This hotel was a jackpot in the midst of many highly price hotels. It lived up to all of the positive reviews. We wanted reasonable room rates without compromising cleanliness and decor. The room was small but comfortable and very clean. The receptionist was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. All of the public areas are small. There were only two public computers, but there is free wifi throughout the hotel. The breakfast area was small so to enjoy your free breakfast, get there early or take it back to your room. There are plenty of breakfast, lunch, dinner and late nite snackies in the vicinity to choose from. We made reservations based on the reviews and the reasonable rates. But it was the actual hotel condition, it's convenience to Manhattan's attractions, and the free breakfast that will make us return.

Very Expensive...Very Small

The price was EXTREMELY expensive for the quality of the room. The room was so tiny with barely any walking room around the beds. Elevator service was rather slow as well. The room however was clean and the continental breakfast was great. Staff was very nice and there is a parking garage right next door that gives you a discount for staying at the hotel.

Excellent Location

Extremely convenient location for Madison Square Garden area. Nice hotel - clean and quiet.

Will be back

This is a nice place, good price and very nice rooms. Rooms large by Manhattan standards, and the place was recently renovated so everything looks great.

Small, but nice room

This was a nice hotel, my only regret is that the room was small. Definitely would not want to have more than 2 adults in this room. There also wasn't very much room to hang out in the room as well, but when you're in Manhattan who wants to sit in the hotel room anyway? The housekeeping staff was outstanding! They met our needs and kept our room neat and tidy throughout our entire stay. Overall it's a decent hotel.

Large rooms by NYC standard

I stay in Manhattan several times a year on business trips and I was surprised at both the size and quality of the rooms for the smallish price I paid. The room was at least 30 to 40 percent larger than what I am use to, and it was clean and modern.

Great Location

The Holiday Inn Express - Madison Square is an excellent location especially if your time is spent going toward lower Manhattan or Midtown. It is a quick block to the Subway. The room was clean and large enough to hold four women. A free breakfast was included in the price. Throughout the day, coffee, tea, hot chocolate was available free of charge. An employee named "Gary" was very customer focused. His exemplary actions were greatly appreciated by me and the ladies I traveled with. I have stayed at this hotel many times and will continue to do so.

Very Good Choice

As expected for a hotal chain company there are standards for holiday inn's and they apply here as well. I was very satisfied with the comfort of the room, the staff and the service. Around the corner is the Penn Station at Madison Square Garden where you have excellent access to the mta. Only one thing that bothered me: My room cooled out so fast that I had to leave the heating on almost the entire time so it won't get cold inside. But that could be for that specific room only.
