Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 26Good value for downtown Boston
Overall, pretty much what I expected--it's just across the street from TD Banknorth Garden/North Station, with several take-out eateries to choose from. It took 20 minuts to walk to the financial district the next morning (where hotels are literally twice the price), so it was great as far as location. The room was comfortable, the staff was fine--I didn't have any issues, so I didn't deal with them much. I stayed the night of a Bruins game, so the street noise was pretty loud, but only until 9 or 9:30, so that wasn't problematic. Quick Review: Can't beat the price for downtown, and no problems.

Trip Type: Business Review 2 of 26disappointed
Holiday inn express was recomended by a co-worker. He had not stayed at this location specifically but was generally impressed with the recent upgrades and what should be expected. This location did not impress at all. The room had been recently renovated but did not make up for the overall dinginess of the hotel. The cable went out, the lobby was sad, the staff was uninpired and breakfast was not edible. The cost to park was outrageous and my car was brought back filty. I will not be seeking an express anytime soon.

Trip Type: Romance Review 3 of 26312 - Excellent Room
1. Yes, there are homeless people. Yes, they ask for money. No, they aren't pushy. It's a city. You will have that. 2. Yes, it's noisy. There are plenty of bars on the street and surrounding area. If you want quiet - don't stay in a sports/drinking city. The hotel staff (after 3pm) was fantastic (before 3, he could have been a little friendlier - but I was trying to check in before 3). The breakfast was good. More than most places with eggs, sausage, bagels, toast. Walking distance to the major sites (Chinatown would have been a haul - but there is the metro). All in all, good place. Make sure not to book on a date when something is happening at the TD Garden or it is going to be loud & impossible.

The TV did not work, - nor did the AC or the elevator. the internet barely worked. Because of all of the problems, they promised a refund if we had Hotels.com call when we got home - but denied it when we had them call. Enough said?

Trip Type: Romance Review 5 of 26Great hotel for attending something at the Garden
If you are attending an event at the TD Bank Garden and don't want to deal with driving - this is the place to stay. You are literally right across the street. The hotel is a very nice surprise. To look at the area, you would never believe that a hotel as nice as this is there. In fact, we walked right by the door once, even though we saw the Holiday Inn banner! The hotel is extremely clean and well decorated. The room is very comfortable and modern. The nicest surprise is the contiental breakfast. We expected some muffins and coffee. Instead, there was an amazing buffet! Cereal, cinammon rolls, bagels, toast, muffins, scrambled eggs, sausage, gravy, fruit, yogurt, coffee, tea and 3 kinds of juice! We are thinking that we will never again drive home after a concert! I would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Two mice were having a field day running around my room. Concierge was nice enough to change my room and made the comment that "it was an old hotel". Unfavorable neighborhood with lots of bars and beggars.

We enjoyed the hotel and room. The event we went to see was across the street so we just walked and didn't have to fight the traffic. Only bad part is parking.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 10 of 26Close to Everything
You would never know that there is a Hotel just across the street from the TD Banknorth Garden. The only hint is if you were walking right by the door and looked up you would see in little letters. "Holiday Inn Express". I thought, ew, creepy when I first went in, but the staff was very accomodating, and hpersonable. The decor is old in the lobby, the halls and the elevators, but it grows on you as the overall charm of Old Boston...The room was surprisingly clean and up to date, the bathroom very clean with ammenities too.For Boston the price was right as well as location for events at the Garden.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 11 of 26Great Location
Hotel is in a great location if you are going to an event at the Garden, with restaurants and bars right around the hotel, everything is within walking distance. No hotel parking but they do give you a discounted rate at the parking garage at the end of the street. Hotel was a little hard to find, there was no large signs, just a smaller banner above the door. But the location was well worth the price. Morning breakfast was available as well.

Trip Type: Business Review 12 of 26Needs lots of improvement
We arrived and an exterior window was open. The room was frigid. Moreover, the heater was not working and we had to make do with a space heater. About 11:30 someone else started trying to get in our room: apparently the front desk had put two different parties in the same room. The television reception was like watching through a snow storm and no one at the hotel could do anything about it. The directions I received to a parking garage were poor and I ended up in a garage about a quarter mile from the hotel, finally giving up on finding the lot that had been recommended. Beginning about 1:00 in the morning and lasting for about an hour and half there was a great deal of drunken yelling and screaming. An unpleasant experience

Trip Type: Business Review 13 of 26Great place, great price
I really liked this hotel, even though it had no parking of its own and on first pass the neighborhood looked a bit scary. Once inside the door, all was great; The staff was very friendly and the rooms were fresh and nice. For the price, this place is perfect and close to lots of great parts of Boston. I had a comfortable stay and would stay there again. Don't expect a grand-scale, but if you have the right expectations for a smallish-intimate, stylish little hotel, then you will enjoy this hotel.

Trip Type: Family Review 15 of 26Staff very friendly and accomodating
The heat was not working in our first room. It was so hot we couldnt stand it. They were nice enough to switch us to another room, which was better than the first one we had. It has a little kitchen area. The staff was very friendly. The only problem I had was the room was already paid for and I still had money holding in my account. Hopefully this will be fixed by Monday. Over all it was a wonderful stay and I would definately stay again
