Description
See more detailsThe Hilton Sydney is a modern, 30-storey city centre hotel, overlooking the Queen Victoria Building, 100 metres from the Town Hall train station. The 577 guestrooms all feature contemporary decor with polished wood floors or wall panels, and are equipped with cable television with pay channels and on-demand movies, PlayStations, high-speed and dial-up Internet connections, clock radios, safes and tea and coffee making facilities. Bathrooms include tubs, showers and hair dryers.
The hotel's LivingWell Health Club offers a 25-metre heated indoor pool, complete with swimming lanes, in- house instructors and a children's splash pool. Guests can work up a sweat on the fitness equipment then unwind in the sauna or spa tub and enjoy healthy drinks from the juice bar. The Glass Brasserie is a high-ceilinged restaurant characterised by colourful and large-scale abstract artworks, and a menu offering classic French. In the evenings, guests can enjoy live music in the Marble Bar, a preserved Victorian bar that serves cocktails, canapés and Australian ales, or sample a selection of boutique beers at the lively GAB bar. The hotel houses 23 meeting and conference rooms and a ballroom which is able to accommodate up to 1,000 delegates. A range of office services are available in the business centre, including secretarial support and typing. The concierge and 24-hour front desk staff are on hand to assist with luggage, arrange babysitting and dry-cleaning services and advise on local sights and attractions. Sydney's old quarter, The Rocks, one kilometre from the hotel, is built upon a sandstone ledge where the First Fleet mariners came ashore in 1788 and claimed Australia as a British settlement. Today, the district's cobbled streets offer cafes, restaurants, historic pubs and panoramic harbour views. Sydney Airport is 19 kilometres away, with an approximate driving time of 25 minutes.
