Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 1137great view
I asked for a room on a higher floor which gave me an outstanding view, and the room was very quiet. Great location.

Lacked the usual attention given to guests at other Hiltons. Too large for my liking.

Trip Type: Family Review 3 of 1137Great New York Experience
I lived in Manhattan for over 20 years and have since moved to CT, I had family in town and we wanted to spend a few days in the city without going back and fourth, I walked past the Hilton a million times, but had never stayed. I wanted something in midtown, but not crazy over populated where you are overwhelmed the minute you walk out of the lobby. The Hilton is the perfect location quaintly nestled between the hustle and bustle of Times Square and 5th Avenue- believe it or not, but it has more of a neighborhood type of feel and right near the heart of Central Park. Also the Hotel was so well contained one did not have to leave the premises to acquire many amenities such as food, beverage and shopping.....what more could a girl ask for!

Trip Type: With Friends Review 4 of 1137Fantastic Stay
My husband and I lived in NYC for 4 years back in early 2000 and loved the Hilton. The location was wonderful and the service was great. Each question that I had addressed to customer service on the phone or the conceirge was answered pleasantly. I highly recommend it!

Trip Type: Family Review 5 of 1137Needs Improvement
The Hilton New York is a very nice hotel. Housekeeping is not well coordinated and one time I had to go into the hall to ask two maids to stop yelling at each other when I was trying to take a nap.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 6 of 1137Great room, Great location
We stayed at the Hilton for the NYC Marathon 2009 and found it to be comfy, well-kept and in a great location. Hotel staff was extremely helpful. We were close to Central Park and Times Square. I did not realize that dogs were allowed in the hotel, but someone on our floor had one that was fairly noisy.

Trip Type: Business Review 8 of 1137Everything as expected - A nice NYC Hotel
All expectations were met, which for a NYC hotel is somewhat unusual in this price range. Many NYC hotels charge about the same or more, and often come with a number of unpleasant surprises. Room service is expensive. Location is great. Go for a king vs queen room as the extra $20 bucks is worth it. I will stay there again. Cheers!

Trip Type: Special Event Review 9 of 1137Well designed room
I have stayed here 3x before but this room was obviously redone by a designer that understands a travelers needs. The handicapped bathroom was perfect, walk in shower etc.. The bedroom was done with a long curved ceramic? type counter the length of long wall for TV and desk. Plugs everywhere for your recharging needs. But what I really loved was the large oval table that pulled out from under the desk. Very comfortable room!!!

Trip Type: Romance Review 10 of 1137Quiet and Convenient
I was impressed with how quiet the hotel was which allowed for a great nights sleep. The location is blocks from Times Square, 5th Ave., Central Park, restaurants, transportation and more.

Trip Type: Romance Review 11 of 1137Location Trumps All Else in NYC
If you are planning a trip to NYC, you would be foolish not to expect big prices virtually everywhere (exception: corner diners). While the NY Hilton was not The Plaza, it is a nice hotel in a terrific part of the city, which is what you want in a New York hotel. Only complaints: wireless internet cost $15 per day and the reception was awful; you can't even use the work-out room without forking over another $15 (that's pretty desperate); got charged $4 for an oreo snack pack from our room bar (again, desperate). Aside from the ideal location, our favorite detail was the Dunkin Donuts hal a block away!

Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 13 of 1137Outstanding Hotel
Having 30 years in the hotel restaurant Business I expect more than the normal guest. The Hilton exceeded my expectation. Their staff is not one you would normally see in NYC, very friendly and attentive. I will definitely not shop around any more. Hilton is my hotel of choice in NYC.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 14 of 1137Great hotel for a NYC experience
This was a great hotel to stay in. We just stayed for one night, but it was perfect. We checked in as a kiosk in the main entrance, so we avoided the big line. It printed our receipt and keys right there and we went up to the room. The location and condition of the hotel was fantastic. My only complaint was that the air conditioning in the room didn't seem to work well. I woke up in the middle of the night and tried to crank it as low as possible, but it never seemed to cool down. The staff at the restaurant the next morning were extremely friendly and helpful. They made everyone feel very welcome and they truly seemed happy to help. The cost of the breakfast was expensive, but it was great (and it's NYC... everything is expensive!) Overall we had a wonderful hotel experience and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to NYC.

Trip Type: Business Review 15 of 1137You get what you pay for
A bit pricier than other options in Manhattan, but for about $100 extra you get a lot for the money. Spacious room with sofa, comfy king bed, killer fitness center, and a prime location across the street from MoMA. All the usual Hilton amenities, too.
