Needs improvement

It is the only hotel on the airport complex, therefore can show 4 star rating, and higher pricing. However, in my opinion, the current state of the hotel and restaurants are not 4 star rated. I ate in the only restaurant, and made a comment that the food was not 4 star rated. Service was good, but perhaps a better selection of food is necessary. I always stay there before international flights, so have watched the hotel over many years. It needs attention.

Issues

Very convenient location. Bathroom needed some upkeeping care. The front desk had more than 6 hours to get a roll away bed set up. It was not completed until after 1 AM, having retrned to the room. I was disapponted in the Hilton experience.

Convenient

Convenient is all I can say good about this hotel. The front desk was continually confused. I had to go to straighten out one thing or another so many times. I wouldn't stay there again.

London Gatwick Airport Hotel

Always a pleasure to stay there; Makes checking in so much easier. The new restaurant is MUCH better for the traveler. However the value and price of the hotel is still very expensive - but then it is located in the airport.

Convenient for the London train and walk into the South Terminal for an early check-in.

This place is a dump

This hotel is old, tired and in desparate need of a total upfit. It's over priced, dirty - the beds are terrible, the bathroom was barely sanitary, the lighting was atrocious - and then they charge you extra for internet access. Being adjacent to Gatwick they have a captive customer who they clearly have no respect for and it's a "cash cow" location that they are just going to take advantage of. Hilton should be embarrassed to have this in their chain.

Prices Are Exorbitant

Everything about the hotel was so overpriced, I felt like I was being robbed. I had a phone card that had an 0800 number (free call) - the hotel charged me 5GBP or $10 each time I used the phone. If I wanted breakfast, it would cost me $40 for cereal and toast. I went downstairs to the gift store to buy a bottle of water and it cost $2.50. I ended up not wishing to eat and drink or enjoy any of the amenities the hotel had to offer. In this economic crisis, I think I would advise people to stay at a hotel a few miles away in order to save money. Terrible hotel.
