3 Major Problems

I stayed for 2 nights on a business trip. 1)I was unable to connect to the wireless internet for the entire trip. I called the front desk several times, they had no solution for me. I called the wireless tech support company, they said they would try to fix the issue, they did not. The error during registration ($10/day) said " Authorization of last name and room number failed". Front desk verified my last name and room number, and it still never worked. On a business trip like mine, it is imperative that I stay connected with the office, this was unacceptable. 2) The bed was hard and old, I could feel the springs through the mattress. When rolling over, my elbows could contact the springs and it was very rough, not Hilton-like. 3) The TV signal quality. They have 32" flat screen TVs in the rooms, but dont expect a great picture or alot of channels. They only have 20 channels, and the resolution is so grainy I'd rather not watch anything, but I also didnt have internet access, so I beared with it. 4) Loud Maintenance at 9 a.m. in the room next door. This was ridiculous, from what I can tell they were sawing pipe in the room by mine. It was so loud I could not sleep, or even rest comfortably. They were making zero effort to be courteous, the would bang their tools around, slam doors, yell at each other about the plumbing etc.

Better Service and Same comfy room for less elsewhere

It is a nice hotel, but I spend much less when traveling on business and get much more for my money at other hotels. The keys did not work when I checked in, and I had to wait in line again to get my keys reissued. The toilet did not flush properly. I left my breakfast card on my door well before the cut off time specified, and no one picked it up. I didn't find that out until I was waiting on breakfast the next morning, and looked outside my door to see my breakfast order still hanging there. So, I then, due to time constraints, had to go without breakfast. I then attempted to at least make coffee in my room, but the sweetener had coffee all spilled on it, so that it clumped and would not come out of the packet.

Not Bad

Good location. Room was comfortable. Really liked the LCD 40" TV. Nice view from my room. However, large party that were drinking got a little load. Overall pretty nice hotel.

Great hotel for the money

The location of the hotel was great. It only took a few minutes to get to the mall, restaurants and the zoo. We enjoyed it very much and will go back.

A Nice Hotel

First of all it is a great hotel. I called early and Daniel told me I could check in early for my arrival at 2 instead of 4, so thanks for that Daniel. But the only problem I was on the 7th floor and it was a pagent and it was so much noise with the little children. It was a 2 day pagent and it was too much for me. I heard kids crying all night. But over all its a nice hotel but WRONG NIGHT to stay.(lol) But all in all a great hotel but just make sure its not a pagent weekend...

On the River

Weenjoyed our stay at the hotel. I would say it was everything we expected except that we saw a person walking down the hall with a dog. That is fine if you are looking for a hotel where you can have dogs...but I was not. So that was a little upsetting. I was wondering if a dog had previously stayed in my hotel room. But I have to say when we good in teh room, things were fine. The bed was comforable the river was outside of our window and I enjoyed the stay. I would recommend this hotel compared to other hotels in the area.

Outstanding Hotel

I have traveled to many hotels and the location of the Hilton Lafayette was very beautiful.I had a river view room which was large and comfortable. The breakfast buffet had many choices. I would recommend this hotel to my family and friends.

The hotel was very nice and in a great location.

Best in town

I think this is the only high quality place to stay if you need to be in this area.

Valentine's Weekend Getaway

Overall the hotel and staff were fine, the property is clean and the surrounding area is very nice with great shops and restaurants near by. The one thing spoiling a perfect weekend was the checkout process. There was only one person staffing the front desk mid-morning on Sunday at peak checkout time. This person was more concerned with her telephone conversation than with attending to the people in line. To top things off, when I finally got her attention, she took my electronic keys to checkout but would NOT provide me with a print of my hotel bill. You shouldn't have this sort of problem in the future for surely the Hilton has fired her by now!
