Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 7Very, Very Nice Hotel
This was my first time to Buzios – a business trip in August, the southern hemisphere's winter. I stayed at the Hibiscus Beach Pousada for 9 nights and enjoyed every aspect. Each ‘room’ at this pousada is an individual bungalow that is built up a hill-side. One of the nicest beach is a 1 minute walk out the front door. Each bungalow has French doors that open to a small private patio overlooking the sea… Every room has a tremendous view, and as a previous review noted, the higher the room, the better the view (I too was at the top in room #9). The staff was great. English is my only language and I had no problems. They even arranged a car for the 2.5hr ride to the airport in Rio at a rate much cheaper than any other private transportation. The location of the pousada is towards the tip of the Buzios peninsula and is much quieter at night than ‘downtown’. For shopping and nightlife, the walk to down town is a beautiful 10 minute stroll along the waterfront (very safe, even late at night). The rooms were immaculate and comfortable. The free-breakfast was served promptly at 8:30am (and it is a good mix of fresh fruit, cereals, pastries and scrambled eggs). I could not get a strong WiFi signal in my room, but it was a pleasure to take my laptop down to the restaurant area to work online. Overall – I cannot imagine a nicer experience in Buzios than the Hibiscus Beach.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 2 of 7Extremely well located, nice people, great views, great price.
I been in Buzios before, first time in this posada. This is very nice place, worth every single piece of your money.Joao Fernandez beach is about 100 meters from your room's door, the sea views right at your balcony, the downtown many great restaurants at 10 minutes enjoyable walk. The place is rustic but sparkling clean, small not Paris-like though!) very confortable rooms with safe, TV, free WiFi, phone, great bathrooms. The staff (multilingual (French-English-Spanish)extremely nice, they not only respond to you but go the extra mile, For instance I asked for an airline phone number and they offered to rebook my itinerary, I asked about taxi, they called one for me.. etc, small details but it is what make a big diference. I definitely will book again this place next time in Buzios.

Trip Type: Romance Review 3 of 7STRONGLY RECOMMENDED
Great location near a lovely beach. Clean and comfortable rooms, with privacy and spectacular sea view. Friendly and helpful staff, especially Alejandro, the night receptionist. Good tasty breakfast. We live in Rio, and plan to return to Hibiscus for New Year.

Trip Type: Romance Review 4 of 7LOVED THIS HOTEL
An almost magical experience! We had originally booked for two nights, and loved the hotel and Buzios so much that we have extended our stay. Guests have a cozy cottage all to themselves, and our room is very comfortable, beautifully clean, and has everything we need. The highest rooms have the best sea views, and we were lucky to be given number 9, right at the top. The staff are really friendly and most speak English. The service is great, and we would like to recommend this hotel. Buzios in June is quiet, with plenty of room on the beaches and in restaurants and bars. During our stay, the peninsula has been bathed in sunlight....yes, a magical experience !

Trip Type: Romance Review 5 of 7Needs Improvement
The location and view were outstanding, but the bungalow needed improvement. The bed was nothing more than a futon. It was two pieces, so every time my partner and I were in the bed together, the two halves separated. There were ants and all kinds of creepy bugs everywhere, but they did not bite. I have a problem with squishy soft toilet seats. The shower head had black slime growing on it. But otherwise the location was excellent, breakfast (included with the cost of the room) was excellent.

Trip Type: Romance Review 6 of 7Great location and staff, but a few suggestions
The location of this hotel is perfect, overlooking one of the best beaches in Buzios. The staff was also great, very nice and helpful and breakfast every morning was basic, but outstanding. The suggestion I have revolves around the rooms - first of all, mattress was very thin and not very comfortable - also saw many ants in the bathroom. Overall we had a great stay, we would go back, but hope they spend a little $ on updating the rooms. That being said, for the reasonable price we paid, it was a great value.
