Trip Type: Family Review 1 of 459Excellent Experience
My wife and I spent two weeks (15 nights)in The Heritage Marina Hotel. It was an excellent experience all around. The location is PERFECT. It was a nice short walk to many places of interest where we could stay late and walk back to the hotel. It is also right next to a bus stop for several major lines that took us everywhere we wanted. The rooms are large with nice clean furniture and spacious closets. The equipment in the room (coffee maker, iron, ...) were very helpful. The staff were very friendly and extremely responsive to our needs and requests. The daily breakfast was remarkable. It was a healthy choice of cereal with milk, orange juice and fresh fruits, and of course coffee and tea. We will certainly stay there in our next visit to San Francisco.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 2 of 459Decent for the location and price
I definitely was not as pleased with this stay as I had been two years ago. The elevators were not working, the room smelled funky, the shower was cold, they did not supply conditioner only shampoo, and the check-in age had been changed to 21 so I had to get someone to call in. The rooms is still nice, they keep the sheets clean, there were some channels on the tv, and its not too far from prime locations. The parking still isn't great but it does have parking which is good. Overall I think I'll find a new hotel to stay at when i visit again, cold showers do not make for happy trips.

You pay for what you get when you use this hotel. Nothing really outstanding about it except for the location. None of the elevators worked. Its pretty cheap, which also means you pass some interesting people staying there, some which are best to just avoid. I will use this hotel again though mainly because of the price and the location.

It was not very clean, but the locations was pretty good. Not a bad place for the price.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 5 of 459Great location but hotel needs improvement and maintenance
We stayed here for one night while we were in San Francisco. Great location for us since we wanted to be in downtown with lots of things to do. However, glad we were only spending one night. The chain for the lock on the door (ya know the little one where you can open your door just a crack but still be somewhat safe) was missing and the deadbolt of the door worked but the door still jiggled loose. The handle on the inside of the bathroom door was completely loose...no idea how the actual knob stayed in place! The caulking where the sink met the wall was recaulked but you could see black mold underneath areas that weren't completely covered by the new caulk. The towels had stains on them too. The tv remote was missing the back cover for the battery area...so they used scotch tape to keep the batteries in place! I don't need a five star hotel but I would have left and "roughed" it in the back of my car had I not been so exhausted and with a friend who obviously had lesser standards than myself. However, I will say...the staff was pretty friendly so that was a plus.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 8 of 459Definitely not worth the money
My biggest complain is the dirty rooms. My room was dirty and broken while my friends room was even worse. Her non-smoking room had cigarette butts on the sink and the room smelled so bad that you could smell it off of their cloth the next day. Cannot recommend to others.

Trip Type: Romance Review 10 of 459I WILL stay here again
This hotel is close enough to Fisherman's Wharf where you can walk. The bed was actually comfortable w/ fluffy pillows. Kind of confusing to walk around, but overall clean and safe enough.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 11 of 459You get what you pay for
Ask not to be put on the 5th floor because then you have to take two separate elevators to get to the room. The room was basic, tiny bathroom and room smelled like smoke.

Trip Type: Business Review 12 of 459"Ok For the money"
We were only staying one night, otherwise we would have looked for something else. The room was small and had a musky smell. The beds were small and uncomfortable. The location was good, parking was very tight and my son's car was sprayed with shaving cream! What a nightmare that was.

Trip Type: Romance Review 13 of 459Great for saving money, but some issues
Good for the price. Reasonably clean. Breakfast is losely defined as an orange. Maybe they'll throw in an apple too. Wireless internet means that the staff have wireless internet. You don't really, unless you really like trying to connect many times and hoping to get lucky. Does work if you go the lobby though, so just do that. Other than that, it's what you pay for. Unless you plan to stay in it a long time, it's a good deal.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 14 of 459Could be better
The location was very good; it was walking distance of the piers (if you don’t mind walking). The room was clean; the area didn’t seem to have too much going on at night so it was nice and quiet for a city. Free parking so that saved me at least $60 a day. The service was very good. Much better then I had expected. The only thing that really bothered me was that there was no working a/c. now I know if very fresh and cool down there but it still gets very stuffy and hot in the room and was not about to sleep with the window open, I know it was a quiet area but you never know it is the city.

Trip Type: Romance Review 15 of 459Absolutley discusting
This was a terrible place to stay in beautiful San Fransisco! Upon arrival we were greeted with an elevator that didnt work on most floors and dirty, frayed, holey carpeting. Inside our room, the lock on the door didnt work and the room smelled. The room had a relativly nice entertainment center, but the doors were off the hinges and propped up against the wall. The room had no phone and no clock. The bathroom was awful: pieces of the sink were chipping off, and parts of the faucet were missing. We had to fix the toilet every time we used it, and by the end, there was no fixing possible. The hotel is in a great location, but I wouldnt stay there again.
