Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham San Antonio NE

Expected better

We've been to other Hawthornes and were disappointed by this one. The rooms are old and run down, but if you are just looking for a clean bed to sleep in, this is a great place. The first room they put us in was the handicap accessible room and it was gross, so they moved us to a two-bedroom and it was an improvement. All the appliances are old (dishwasher, toaster, etc.) but the beds are comfortable and white on white clean. Decent for the money but I expected a little nicer room. The staff was clueless about every question we asked and was not helpful. The breakfast was the same thing every day, but was decent.

great space for the money

Family got together from Uvalde and Houston, TX for overnight stay to go to Natural Bridge Wildlife park. We stayed in the 2 bedroom/2bath suites. Location was easy access off 35/1604. Close to park and some great diners. We like the exterior entrance and enjoyed the patio. This was a comfortable, enjoyable place to stay. Upscale bedding included.

Good value and convenient location

I wanted a smoking room but was told they were not updated, so I took a ground floor non smoking. I was pleased to find a nice small patio with 2 chairs where I could smoke. This arrangement met my needs, and the room was huge with a full kitchen, separate bedroom with a tv in the living room and bedroom. The only negative was the tile in the kitchen looked dirty, like it needed stripped and waxed. Other than that, the room was clean as was the bathroom. Good shower pressure too!!! Staff was friendly and helpful, and I will definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone going to San Antonio.

I was very comfortable.

I was very surprised at the spacious accommodations. The hotel looks as if there has been some recent renovations. The breakfast was not elaborate but very good.

great room for the money

besides the room smelling like a bad disinfectant spray and the kitchen appliance still old, everything else was very very good. nothing that a good smelling spray can take care of. the location was far from the places that we were going to, but it was so nice and quiet and food places everywhere. you could tell it was just remodeled since the beds and furniture were new. overall its a very good place for long stays. we would go back when we visit san antonio again

it was well worth the money for this room, it is still being renovated but the renovation are looking great.... very comfortable stay in a quiet neighborhood...

needs improvement

Initially, if I hadn't been so tired from traveling, I would have checked out. Knowing that I most likely would not have received a refund. The next day after sleeping, I thought that I could probably tolerate it for the time that I had booked. The furniture was outdated. Noted some water damage to ceiling and questioned present of mold. They did offer free breakfast, but we never attended. They appeared to have a good amount of customers. Maybe the other rooms are nicer, but I booked into smoking room. Towards the end of my stay, I thought that the amount I paid was too high, but then maybe that is all you get for that amount of money now. I doubt that I will ever stay there again, although the location was great for us and the actually hotel campus was quite.

The hotel was ok.....

The Good: 1. originally an apartment complex, roomy 2. full kitchen 3. free breakfast..more than just a donut 4. 2 bdrms seperated with own restrooms 5. sleep sofa included 6. pets allowed 7. convenient to groceries and restaraunts 8. have pool and jacuzzi 9. internet provided, upon request The Bad: 1. pets allowed, be careful where you step 2. sofa hard as the floor, litterally 3. big breakfast, no room to eat in lobby 4. carpet in desparate need of cleaning 5. no wireless internet, use LAN cable Overall: We booked our room in advance and got a really good deal. So, for what we paid for the room was made the stay more enjoyable. I would reccommend this hotel to a friend.

Nice motel.....

My stay at the hotel was okay the room was as bigger than i expected 8 people stayed in the room. It had two bedrooms and a living room with a pull out sofa. The cleaning service was really nice gave us extra towels since it was so many peoople that was in the room. I went down to get extra pillows the counter help wasnt as nice but he might have had a bad night. We didnt get to eat breakfast because we slept in. The only thing that I didnt like was that it was only one television in the whole room and since we had more kids than adults it was hard to put the children to sleep with only one television. The two bathrooms did come in hand. Everyone thing worked wonderful in the room. We didnt cook anything even though it had a full kitchen we thought that we might had cooked dinner when we came back from fiesta texas but we didnt but the mircowave and fride worked good. I give it 4.5 stars

Exellent value, just like an appartment!

We had a two room suite and there was plenty room for all 6 of us. Full size frige and oven/stove was really handy when we didn't want to spend the money on eating out. Breakfast was hot and wonderful;eggs, hash browns, biscuits, sausage gravy, homemade waffles and more. We will definitely be staying here again!
