Hotel is in great shape, rooms are wonderful. But staff is burned out, no eye contact at check in, waiters are slow and act like robots. Food is just ok. Most dealers are happy and positive but there are some that have been there to long,, burned out!

Great room for the price

My husband and I visit Lake Tahoe for our 5th year Wedding Anniversary and Harrah's is a very nice hotel with the exception of the smoke at the casino's. The front desk was very nice. They had us on the 7th floor, but I didn't like the view, I wanted something with the Lake or the Mountains, so I went back to the front desk and they had no problem accomadating us on the 11th floor with a great view. If you don't have any activites plan, they have a concierge up front that can help you. Lake Tahoe is a BEAUTIFUL place.Thanks Hotel's.com.

Great Room!

Loved the hotel. Centrally located, within walking distance to everything! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Because we went mid-week, the hotel wasn't very full so when we checked in, we explained we were there celebrating my 50th birthday. They upgraded us to a larger room with a view, no charge. The room was great! The only drawback would be that the bed was a little hard and the room was a little chilly, no option to turn the heat up. But we found an extra blanket in the closet. Overall, we would stay there again (but would ask for a pillow-top matress next time!).

Can't beat one of the best hotels!

We got a great room rate over the memoriald day weekend, the room was big and had a great seating area with a view of the lake. The bathrooms were a little old. it had a tv in it but it was one of those from the 80's it seemed. The room itself was holding up nicely considering how old the hotel is.

RUDE STAFF!! DO NOT STAY! EMBASSY SUITES NEXT DOOR

Staff was the worst that I have ever encountered! "Elizabeth" Front desk had the personality of a rock. She does not belong in the customer service industry! Could not even answer a simple question of a business center that is 2 miles down the road... RUDE! Go to Embassy Suites next door much better staff, rooms, business center... I highly recomend going next door to the Emabassy Suites... I travel for work and this was the most horrible experiance with hotel staff that I ever encountered. Do your research do not stay at Harahs much better hotels in the South Lake Tahoe area...

Fun on the Lake

Overall, our stay at Harrah's was excellent. There were only a few things that made us give the hotel 4 stars instead of 5; the view and the bed. If you want a hotel with a great view, be warned that unless you are on at least the sixth floor of the hotel, you'll see the surrounding buildings or the parking garage instead of the lake or mountains. The mattress was too soft for our liking, and my husband had trouble sleeping because of it. This aside, the hotel was great! The room was spacious, with a full seating area, a walk in closet, and TWO bathrooms. The staff were always polite, and the concierge helped us find fun activities to do indoors on the day it rained. The hotel has several restaurants, including a HUGE buffet, and an elegant stake house. We will likely stay there again on our next trip to Tahoe.
