Great Hotel

Hotel was very clean and the room was spacious. The hotel had an excellent breakfast with both american and costa rican food. Free calls to the US and Canada along with 1 other country - a pleasant surprise!

Very Good Service

Hotel Staff was exceptional, very friendly and very nice. Breakfast was good and the rooms were clean and comfy..Very close to the airport. Not a ton of places to eat, Denny's is right next door with a Casino.. The steakhouse down the street will come pick you up and take you back which is nice..

Convenient & Comfortable

Excellent choice to "unwind" after a week touring Costa Rica & Panama. Right next to the airport, with shuttle service at 4AM the next morning for our early flight. Hotel recommended a great steak house nearby for our last meal in country ("Cencerra"). Great experience!

Great Choice Into Or Out Of San José

The Hampton Inn in Alajuela near the airport is a great choice for a layover night on your way into or out of San José, or for a longer stay if you have business in San José. It is an "American Style" hotel so you won't have to deal with room quality, plumbing, cleanliness or security problems that you might have in other hotels. The staff is super friendly and the complimentary breakfast is also quite good. The negatives are that the surrounding neighborhood lacks good restaurants (the short drive to Real Cariari has better eating choices) and that staying in San José in general is unworthy of such a beautiful country as Costa Rica. Costa Rica is best enjoyed when away from all its large cities.
