We were give the wrong room at first and they more than accommodated us by giving us the largest suite they had with no additional charge. The front desk was friendly and helpful and the hotel is located perfectly on the edge of the old city within walking distance to almost anything important.

Trip Type: Family Review 3 of 30Hotel worn around the edges
While well located and a pleasant interior design, the Port Royal Suites is in need of some renovation as well as better maintenance by the cleaning staff. Overall the hotel seems to be run by an inexperienced staff. The room smelt like burnt pizza which opening the window did nothing to alleviate. The linens were dirty and there were only 3 coat hangers (These two issues were immediately corrected by staff when requested). The mattress should have been replaced two or three years ago and made for two rather sleepless nights.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 4 of 30Wonderful Hotel
Although the circumstances of our trip were sad (funeral) this hotel exceeded our expectations; every room had a full kitchen and laundry facilities. The bathroom was superb and the staff at the hotel was very helpful. The hotel is nicely located in the old port of Quebec City, easy to find and conveniently located. We would definitely stay there again.

Trip Type: Romance Review 8 of 30Great Hotel
The Hotel Port-Royal was perfect for our weekend getaway. It was a bit of a hike (up a big hill nonetheless) to get to the majority of Quebec's activities & restaurants, but walking everywhere got us in the spirit of relaxation and winter fun, and it didn't bother us a bit. Our suite had a full kitchen, a large desk, a couch, and a very comfy bed. The best part was the low lights and the music playing in our room when we arrived!

The Front desk clerk was very helpful with local attractions and bars/restaurants that were in our price range. The only down fall with the hotel was that the view of our room was a Gas Station but the lighting and wood floors were amazing.

The Port-Royal is a great value, is comfortable, trendy, and in a great location. The staff is friendly and efficient. We had a great stay, and will certainly be returning.

No staff to help at check-in. One room was overlooking gas station with accompanying noise and lights. Another room was over the restaurant with loud noise early in a.m. and late at night. When we moved rooms we were promised assiatnce but it never came. Overcharged for parking at check-out. Could be a good value hotel but need work

Trip Type: Romance Review 13 of 30great space in a hideaway location that's close but quiet
Wonderfully designed room with a great bed -- exposed brick, wood floors, and a wall of windows that open for a breeze, plus granite in the kitchen and bath made this very comfortable. Less than a block to the cruise terminal, and a short walk to a little farmer's market with restaurants. This is part of the older part of Quebec, at the base of the hill, so there are plenty of cafes, restaurants, etc. -- but the tourist hordes are a few blocks away. Nice to join that scrum, but coming "home" was a welcome getaway. Great concierge and front desk staff, and a nice restaurant (no longer a pub) in the same building. Parking just outside in a private lot. Fabulous!

Trip Type: With Friends Review 14 of 30Comfortable Hotel
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was excellent . . close to restaurants, museums and the water. Our room was very comfortable and spacious. The bathroom ceiling was in need of repair and generally needed updating. The lobby and hallways were small and dark.

If you are lucky enough to get a deluxe suite you will be impressed. It was like having your own loft in the heart of Old Quebec. With Quebec city's only brewpub in the building and one of Quebec's premier restaurants "Toast" right down the street, it was hard to beat. Also nearby is a great place for breakfast, I believe it was called "le buffet d'Antiquarian", you can see it from the Hotel's front door. Used by mostly locals, it was very good value.
