    This is an amazing destination hotel. The room was small, as it was a former monk's cell, but was very nice and overlooked the orchard. We spent several hours the next day exploring the 12th century abbey. Dinner was excellent.

    Fontevraud is a very special place full of charm, history, beauty, and tranquility. It is a great place from which to explore the western regions of the Loire Valley. I will stay there again and happily recommend it to all!

Set in a monastic complex dating back to 1101, The Royal Abbey of Fontevraud is surrounded by a 14-hectare estate and located four kilometres from Montsoreau Castle. The hotel features 52 individually decorated guestrooms with colour coordinated fabrics and simple modern furnishings.
