The hotel is very nice, but is so far out of the way. Kyoto is a great city stay in town and travel to your conference. It was a good deal though. Also, the subway stop shuts down early and you have to walk a long way in the dark (no street lights) to get back to the hotel.

Our room was quite spacious. The hotel staff was helpful answering our questions. There is a 24-hour convenience store near the subway station and bus depot where danishes, snacks, and juices can be purchased. The hotel provides luggage storage service at Kyoto Station (service terminates at 6pm and is located near one of the shinkansen entries) so there was no need to stow our bags in the station lockers. There is some travel time from the central city to the hotel's convenient subway stop on the Karasuma Line; but with Kokusaikaikan being the terminal station, there are ample opportunities for a subway seat.

With its oval-shaped design by famed architect Togo Murano, the Grand Prince Hotel Kyoto, Japan, rests below the Kyoto Mountains. The hotel sits next to the Kyoto International Conference Hall and four kilometers from Takaragaike Park. Surrounded by trees, hills and rivers, the area is most attractive in the fall, although the hotel attracts year-round visitors who enjoy its large business facilities and impressive architecture.

The Grand Prince Hotel Kyoto houses an authentic Sukiya-style teahouse in a sculptured Japanese garden. Business guests can book the space to entertain clients and hold special meetings, or travelers can enjoy lunch and dinner in its elegant atmosphere. The hotel features seven banquet rooms in total, including Prince Hall, which seats up to 1,400 guests.

Guests can visit one of the hotel's six restaurants and lounges, including the refined and quiet Tohen Chinese Restaurant and the tasty Washoku Japanese Restaurant. The Lobby Lounge offers cakes, coffee and tea with views of the garden, and the well-stocked Main Bar provides a cozy and intimate environment.

The eight-story Grand Prince Hotel Kyoto contains 322 guestrooms and 23 suites that boast views of Mount Hiei. All offer high-speed Internet access, coffeemakers, satellite television, refrigerators, bathrobes, complimentary toiletries and complimentary newspapers. Green Program
