    We stayed for a week in April and had a fantastic time. We had one of the Mayan suites with the outdoor rock shower...very romantic! The resort was very clean and had beautiful grounds. The spa and adult pools were a great place for quiet time. We did not take advantage of any spa services. Before we went, we were expecting the food to be typical buffet quality, but we were pleasantly surprised with the food quality...especially at the menu restaurants. The outside dining at the Italian restaurant was our favorite (we ate there 3 out of 7 nights). We danced almost every night to the live music at the different areas of the resort. The only suggestion I could make would be as follows. The menu (non buffet) restaurants require men to have long pants, and this was not mentioned on the website. Luckily, I had brought one pair. We are already planning a return trip.

    Service was wonderful, beyond wonderful -- people go out of their way to help and meet all your needs. The variety and availability of food was spectacular. The setting is gorgeous -- the entire property is beautiful. The hotel is close enough to explore several Mayan ruins nearby, which allows you to be off the property if you choose. Our only complaint: the beds, themselves, are relatively small and the pillows are unpleasant. We should have listened to the previous reviewer who said "bring your own!"

Situated on stretch of what some say is the best beach in the Cancun-Tulum corridor, the Grand Palladium Colonial Resort & Spa (Riviera Maya, Mexico) is 16 kilometers (10 miles) from Village Akumal and 48 kilometers (30 miles) from Playa del Carmen. The Spanish Colonial style hotel is an ideal place to spend on relaxing holidays, leaving the cares of the world behind. Designed by renowned architects to be integrated with nature, this beautiful resort was literally carved through tropical foliage fronting a long beach.
